"While it was “glamping”, the people there made all the difference! Nice bbq dinner and breakfast. A shoutout to Pierre who loves what he does! In all likelihood you will bump into a wonderful person, Daisake-san, who has been with Wakka for the longest time and was literally born on the grounds of what became Wakka. He is the boat captain who takes you out sightseeing and fishing (and if you catch something, he will make sashimi for you). Wonderful stop for us on our intermediate stop across...
"We had such a beautiful experience with our one night stay, including a traditional Japanese meal for dinner and breakfast. The room was large, private, and comfortable with amazing large windows looking out on the water. Our stay here is definitely a core memory from our trip to Japan."
"This was our (family of four age 9 and 11 kids) first Ryokan experience. It was incredible. We loved the authentic Japanese feel. It was an adventure getting there on a boat and we rented bikes next door for a beautiful all day ride. It’s a great spot to ride from in the middle of the Kaido. If you want a traditional, relaxing stay—book this! We hope to return. (We did 2 rooms with 2 people each because the bedrooms are smallish.)"
