"We stayed for one night. The staff were fantastic and juliet checked us in and was very welcoming. Unfortunately it was really busy. They had little to offer for a vegetarian meal in the bar. They had a function on and the noise from people shouting etc late into the night meant we had no sleep. "

"This hotel is super convenient- fantastic in fact. HOWEVER, the walls are paper thin, the heating comes on all through the night and is loud, and the bed and pillows are pretty uncomfortable. The food is great. So, take ear plugs and your own pillow and you may get some sleep."

"The slate is a lovely hotel ,cosy and comfortable .the reception is welcoming and clean and there's a lovely log burner in the bar that gives the plase an atmospheric smell. Evening meal was really good and good value for the home cooked food we enjoyed . Breakfast was really good and just started the day perfectly . We recommend to anyone and we'd definitely stay again when visiting Wales ."

" Faded Victorian excellence trying to satisfy today's tourists and not quite managing it (building is over 190 years old). Our double room was more like a single room. Buffet breakfasts Ok, dinners no more than average. Car parking difficult!"
