"We stayed just the one night. The staff were very friendly and eager to provide good service. We enjoyed a pleasant drink on the lovely patio overlooking the river followed by a tasty meal in the bar. Breakfast was excellent . Our room was fairly basic with quite a small ensuite . The WiFi was good. We were pleased with our stay which represented good value."

"The hotel is very nice, with lovely rooms and beautiful surroundings. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful, although they often had to juggle multiple roles at once, which sometimes made them difficult to find. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay, and if I return to Castle Douglas, I would happily stay here again."
"Inn was closed so no food or drink. No notification prior. Looked like I’d be only person the premises. Expedia took payment prior despite instructions saying property would take payment. The inn still expected payment.Ended up being sent to another hotel which was much nicer."
"We really enjoyed our stay in the Art Bank, Mandy made us feel very welcome, and her brilliant breakfasts set us up for the day.
The Art Bank is very well named, we loved the range of art work on display, and the artistically themed rooms. We stayed in the Monet room, which was comfortable and peaceful. We didn't mind the shared bathroom, we never had any issues sharing it with the other guest, and even managed a relaxing bath.

"Property located in peaceful location. Not much in the walking distance. You can walk to local pub in about 25 minutes. We drove everywhere. Very nice beach in 6 minutes drive. "

Lots to see and do around the area, we had a fantastic 3 night stay.
Lounge area spacious and double bed very comfy.
Only thing I would say is that the twin beds are small my teenagers were too big to get comfy, would be OK for younger children."
