"We were disappointed at check-in to learn our room was not in the historic hotel building, which is beautiful, but in a new annex building up the street (which is non-descript.) Reception closes at 2pm, but check-in begins at 2pm. If you can't arrive at 1:55pm, you must follow the self-check-in instructions that are sent via email (in German.)
