"The Mandarin Oriental this is not. This is a clean, well run, small European hotel, not new, but well maintained, with a very friendly and astonishingly multi-lingual staff.
The clientele appeared to be well-to-do couples speaking French and German. The food in the restaurant was not flaming or foaming, but the lasagne made with fresh pasta was very nice, as was my glass of red wine.
The hotel is within spitting distance of both Hertz and the train station. If you have reason to stay overnight...
"Prima gerenoveerde kamer, maar wastafel zat los evenals douchekop. Kleine kledingkast, prima airco, bed lag voor ons lekker. Ontbijt was oke voor 3* italiaans. 3 soorten vleeswaren, 2 soorten ital kaas, veel zoetigheid, scrambled eggs en hardgekookte koude eieren. Verder broodjes, brood, sap en goede koffie. Personeel maakte veel goed.
Diner was prima maar erg duur. Mini lasagna voor €15. Cola in hotel was €5,-"

"Very well located hotel in Menaggio. We loved the small swimming pool as well as the balcony in our room, the balcony has a beautiful view over the lake. A delicious and diverse breakfast buffet (continental, fresh fruit and vegetables, yogurts and toast, eggs and sausages) and we enjoyed drinks at the terrace bar. However we found that out room was very hot, the air conditioning system didn't seem to work and was just blowing dry air into our room with not much possibility to control it. A...
