Very quiet and away from a lot of tourist traffic and people.
A fair distance from the tourist attractions on Skye but the drives are well worth it for the scenery"
"The hotel itself was lovely, however we paid extra for a "sea view" room and we only saw a small bit of the gigantic, beautiful lake that was on the other side of the roof! When we questioned, we were told the tide was out and we would see more when the tide came in. I would not pay extra for a room with a view! Our experience was very disappointing. They should not categorize room #2 as a "sea view" room!"

"Loch Eyre House is a charming and private bed & breakfast. The fact that it's 7 miles from the traffic of Portree is a big plus-- at Loch Eyre House you have quiet and a beautiful view of Loch Eyre. The guest lounge is a comfortable place to read or play cards if the weather isn't great. Our room had everything we needed, plus a balcony porch with table and chairs. "The staff contacted us before our arrival to make us aware that reservations are recommended for the only restaurant in Glenelg. The continental breakfast included numerous thoughtful and delicious options.
The room included everything to make our stay comfortable.

"It is a great view! Easy to park just over the road. Plenty of breakfast items and fruit provided. It was a bit cold when we arrived but once the heating was on we warmed up. Bed comfy, big telly."
"Lovely cosy cottage called “The Wee Cottage”. It was not so “wee” and was exactly as described with a direct view on the harbour. Perfect spot to do our Skye tour and then conveniently leave east the next morning!"
"This was the perfect location for our Skye adventure. The house fit our group of 4 perfectly, and we enjoyed the wonderful views of the beach. Communication with the owner was easy after doing a quick google search on how to make an international call (when I’m from the states). I throughly enjoyed my stay!"
"The cabin was a lovely tranquil space. Away from the hubbub of Portree and all on its own.
It was so peaceful looking over the water with a horse and sheep as the immediate neighbours.
I didn't manage to work the induction hob but was able to use the oven just fine.
The hot tub was a rare treat too. It took a bit to figure it out but nothing a wee Youtube video couldnt fix. "
"It was by far our favorite place to stay in Scotland. We sat and watched the weather change out the windows for six hours. The place was the perfect size for the two of us. The owners were easy to talk to and very accommodating. There was even Scotch. The only advice is to purchase groceries at the co-op in the town before you turn onto the main road. Once you get to the house you won't want to leave because you will be in heaven."

"I was doing the NC500 as a solo traveller and stayed here as the last stop. The rooms themselves were clean, but keep in mind that there are no towels or quilt in the room. As someone who was travelling light, this meant using my t shirt as a makeshift quilt. I would’ve actually got some sleep with this setup, if it wasn’t for another guest snoring next door through the night. Of course, this isn’t the bunkhouse’s fault, but just note that the walls are very thin, and earplugs do help a bit but...
