"The room was clean and house keeping attended daily. The building is very old as I suspect many in the area are. The bathroom was very small and one of the taps in the shower was broken. It came out of the wall in my hand. There was soap supplied. The heat pump was very good for air conditioning. The beds were adequate but very uncomfortable mattresses for both. The area is secure and in the heart of shopping districts and restaurants. There is no elevator and our room was on the third floor so...
"Hôtel difficile à trouver. Chambre confortable avec wifi et Climatisation.
Accueil moyen et pas de choix de petit déjeuner : plateau imposé et limité."
"Lindo hotel. Muy bien ubicado. La entrada es muy grandiosa, de caserón antiguo y elegante. Los cuartos están limpios, con luz y todas las comodidades. Muy silencioso en la noche. Lo recomiendo ampliamente."
"The location is perfect for a great view of Porto with all amenities close by. The property is a vintage hotel look but could use some updating in rooms with some fresh carpeting and maybe some repairs to some of the walls. Overall very clean. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast views were beautiful. Could use an updated coffee machine at breakfast time."
"My stay at Hotel Vice Rei was wonderful! If you are good on foot, everything is within a walkable distance. Walking to Rua da Cedofeita and Rua do Rosário takes around 15–20 minutes (10–15 if you're a quick walker like me).
Just like other reviewers said, the hotel is a bit outdated, but that doesn't take away from its charm; it brings a warm, cozy vibe. Just be mindful of a bit of noise from the pipes/toilets.
I didn't get breakfast at the hotel since I hadn't included it in my booking,...
"J'étais dans un dortoir à 4 femmes. La chambre était très petite et l'air conditionné arrivait directement sur les femmes qui couchaient en haut donc elles la fermaient et il faisait extrêmement chaud.
Il y a eu 3 jours sans eau chaude mais pour le reste c'était bien et très bien situé"
"There is no staff other then cleaning staff it’s all digital. Property is rundown a bit and no amenities to speak of other than wifi,no fridge. Located in a great spot though close to everything and had no issues with door codes."
"We stayed at Ibis Porto São João for two nights and found the location very convenient, with Uber making it easy to get around. The room was simple but very clean and had what we needed for a short stay. The garage was also easy to access.
The best feature was the small mall underneath the hotel, accessible directly by a connecting staircase. It had several places to eat and a laundromat, which was especially handy during our trip. Breakfast was okay."
