"What the room looked like online was not representative of what the room we were given was. Although it had a lovely view out to the lush garden area, the room itself was lacking. The space was adequate but it seemed tired and in need of some updating. I would say ok clean, but felt the need to sleep on top of the duvet for our one night stay.

"No elevator, carrying luggages to 3rd floor with no staff to help was hard. Location is excellent 2 min from Gora station and cable car to major attraction in Hakone is a plus. Any food or bus stops are 12-14 min walk but the only way is through a very hard long stairs."
"Perfect if you want an old-fashioned, really traditional Japanese inn experience. Shared public bath, views of the lake, futon bedding in tatami rooms (sit on the floor), breakfast is hot rice with a raw egg or ochazuke… it’s hard to find places like that anymore. And the bus to wherever you want to go stops either at the hotel or across the street."

"Great location in Kamakura that's near the train. There's plenty of food options nearby along with a small grocery store. Area is super quiet both during the day and night. Hostel staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. We stayed in a bunk room with bathroom & shower and you can tell the room was well used. Everything was very clean. Facilities in the common areas were well maintained (microwave and lounge space). Bunk bed was fine. I had the top bunk and it wasn't the easiest...
