I came here on a solo trip to hike the Drakensberg, and it was a wonderful success! Ardmore is situated on a beautiful property with spectacular views and nice walks that leave from the farm itself. 15 minutes driving, you can also start much more adventurous hikes from the Drakensberg Park at the Monk’s Cowl trail head, and those day hikes are wonderful and very well-marked. I stayed one night at Spion Kop Lodge en route to Isandlwana. The staff were very welcoming, I was the only diner that evening in the restaurant and got excellent service. I loved the many historical artifacts and pictures decorating the lodge.
