Better than expected, as I appreciated how close I would be to the front street but I was pleasantly surprised at the value of the room even though the price was lower than other hotels. I was in rm 212. It was clean and a great size. The bathroom had a lovely skylight too. "The place has a bright and very colorful feel yet is a place of peace away from the outside world. Avalon can be a pretty busy place when the cruise ships come in, then you walk up a short alley and forget where you are. "
