Very clean rooms and hotel, reality matched the online photos and staff were very helpful. Shocked to find the surrounding community has totally shut down, so staying on the mountainside at the hotel is isolated, albeit beautiful.
No spa! I am not sure why they have a spa picture they need to remove it because the staff member said the spa is getting put for the past two years and still hasn’t been done. Otherwise good hotel and staff are friendly and hotel is clean and accessible. They have cars to get you from the ryuoo information centre just make sure to give them a call beforehand to arrange it otherwise you will have to walk in snow. The breakfast buffet is good and included.
Friendly staff, we arrived very late on the first night, they arranged snow mobile to pick us from the carpark and checked us in quickly. The outdoor private hot tub is just what you need after a day of skiing!
Located at the base of the ski area, this hotel has excellent and friendly service. Charlie, in particular, was a huge help in navigating getting to and from the hotel via train and taxi (we were after hours). We had the dragon suite, very suitable for families. The free shuttle to the train stations make getting around the region ( Snow Monkeys!) easy—but be mindful of the hours the busses and hotel vans run. I highly recommend the T Hotel at Ryuoo.
Service : best customer service from all staff. Impeccable.
Room and facilities: new and nicely maintained. Rhe suite i took was spacious with 2 bathrooms. A rare find for a ski in ski out hotel on the slope. Wifi in room works well
Food: decent food in hotel restaurant, much better than what neighbouring hotels. There are not a lot of food options nearby.
Parking: available at open space opp ski info center. Have to inform hotel to send a snow shuttle to car park to fetch our luggage as the it is a short walk , but not easy with many luggages. However, The hotel staff provide best customer service to assist.
Overall, 5 star rating for sure. Thank you everyone at T hotel ryuoo.
Love the hotel and the staff. We had such a great time and would definitely return. The staff is nothing but great and helpful. They take the extra mile to make sure we have a great stay. The facility is nice and comfortable. Meals are good. It's like a ski in ski out. We had such a great time.
Their customer service is everything that makes our stay spectacular. Before our visit, they asked us to reserve dinner. We came across a Christmas special that is a Chef hand made cake and we asked to order. They responded that the cake was really just for Christmas day celebration and since we won't check in until closer to New Year, it's out of the order date. A few days later, they emailed me and told us that they have asked the Chef if the Chef would still make us the cake. We were so surprised for the extra mile they took to provide the service. And we happily ordered the cake for our holiday celebration. Sure enough, the cake was so pretty and delicious, our family was over the moon. I told my family about the special arraignment and every was so happy and thankful for the service they provided.
During our stay, we realized the area was pretty short staff due to many reasons. The staff at the hotel works very hard to make sure they cover all ground and give us spectacular service despite the shortage. It's very amazing.
We will return as we had such a wonderful time.
Thank you.
It was our first time to this area, we chose Ryuoo upon recommendation from a Japanese friend. Very nice Western-style hotel at Ryuoo ski resort. We were in the King Suite, a 2 bedroom/2 bath with a living room. Super spacious, modern living. It is located a very short walk to the base & ticket office. The staff is helpful & they have a great female employee (sorry I forgot her name) who speaks fluent English & French, or translation apps works with everyone. Washer/dryer downstairs, microwave downstairs, gear lockers outside the lobby, bus depot a short walk away but far enough to not hear or see the crowds. Not many dining options, but there is a great sweet or savory crepe kiosk, burgers at the base, ramen down the street, & the hotel has to-order egg breakfasts or "Ryuoo" breakfast which is a plate of Shinshu apple-fed beef and salad. All-you-can-eat variety of breads, pastries, rice porridge, juices, teas, and coffees. Well worth it for the ease of starting your day. Hotel dinners were pricey, they offer a French dinner or Shabu Shabu. We did the shabu shabu, & of course, it was excellent. We also got extra food from Yudanaka, a free shuttle ride away. There's a rental place next door, the older gentleman who runs it is the ultimate Japanese experience, he immediately brought out his translator app, wore a purple rag on his head-Japanese style, smoked in and out of the shop, & offered us a shot of orange juice before we went out-so awesome. Shiga Kogen is 50 min away.
Staff were friendly with many different nationality so meaning no issues for foreigners to stay in..
The hotel is nicely & newly renovated with Ski lifts just at the side of the hotel.
We stayed for 5 nights and everything was just great throughout our stay!
Will definitely stay again when we return.
Thank you for taking good care of us ^^
The front desk staff was super helpful. The free breakfast buffet was very good - as was the dinner at the hotel restaurant. We went during ski season and there is not much else by way of restaurants in the area besides at other hotels or on the slopes so I'd recommend making a reservation at the hotel restaurant for your nights there. You can mix it up and do the chef's course menu one night and stick with the regular menu the next. Note: You cannot just walk in, they require a reservation.
There is a complimentary bus from Yudanaka station that will bring you to the Ryuoo Ski Park entry and then just call T Hotel to get them to send a shuttle for you. If you go during ski season you'll want this because otherwise you're hiking a snowy mountain with luggage!

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Severely understaffed (which they use as an excuse for everything, feels like only 4 people work in the whole giant hotel), bugs inside the room (other hotels nearby don't have this problem), wifi almost never works, check-in was 2 hours late (we were in the room at 5pm), they only replaced garbage and towels when "cleaning the room" (our room cost $400 per night!), no onsen, only one air hockey machine which costs 500 yen (!) works in the "game room", pillows so big they are impossible to sleep on. Avoid this hotel! There are many cheaper and better options in Yamanouchi area!
Hôtel très reculé, mais à distance intéressante de Nozawa Onsen, Shiga Kogen et Nagano. Chambre spacieuse avec literie très confortable. Un peu trop dispendieux pour la localisation
Beyond the Room being perfect for us two, spacious, clean and beautiful views. The staff at T Hotel Ryuoo were excellent at hosting us and helping create an easy and seamless vacation, from shuttles to reservations. The restaurant staff was especially attentive and want to give a big thank you to that department. We felt comfortable in the space, highly recommended and we would definitely come back.
