Top Westerkirk Parish Library Hotel Reviews
Hetland Hall Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful & impressive stately hotel in lovely surroundings , with well-appointed & well-furnished rooms. Got a very friendly welcome, and had requested a room with a view , if possible - and happily got one over looking the rolling countryside towards the Solway Firth. Breakfast was delicious, staff were very attentive, and meal set us up for our journey into the Lake District."
The Kings Arms Hotel

"The lady that we dealt with was very nice , she made my husband and myself very welcome. The room was clean but I have to say very tired , but it was a ok . The breakfast was fine . Can’t comment on shops as we went to a wedding so didn’t go far and the next morning we drove home."

Gretna Hall Hotel
8/10 Good
"This is the first time we have stayed here and found the Staff to be extremely kind and helpful - on check-in our room was quickly changed to a ground room when they found out my husband had a broken knee! The bedroom was clean and bright with a view over the picturesque grounds. Breakfast was super and again the waiting staff were all very helpful. We would definitely stay here again."

Charming Fully Refurbished Garden Cottage
10/10 Excellent
"Outstanding cottage, beautifully renovated. Great location with nice walks from the door, fabulous garden and lovely hosts. One of the best we’ve stayed at, for sure!"
Luxury Cottage in the Scenic Borders of Scotland
10/10 Excellent
"A lovely cottage; light, spacious, well furnished. Immaculately clean. Beautiful garden. One large double bedroom (ensuite) and two decent-sized single bedrooms with a shared shower room/toilet on the ground floor. Comfy beds. Large lounge with lovely sofas & a wood burning stove. We stayed here during a summer heat wave, but we were confident that it would be warm and cozy even in the depths of winter. There is a small general store and a pub in the village and larger supermarkets and shops in the neighbouring town of Langholm. Everyone super-friendly!! Canonbie is a wonderful base for exploring some of the Scottish borders. There are many lovely walks around the village itself, as well proper hiking across the bigger hills around Langholm and Eskdalemuir. Many prehistoric monuments / standing stones in easy driving distances. Lunch at the Samye Ling Buddhist Monastery was an unexpected delight. (Needs to be booked.) Our holiday coincided with the wonderful Canonbie annual village fete! Lots of family fun!"
