The Old Stagecoach Inn is not an ultra modern hotel and not trying to be. Expect nicely appointed old VT charm, a nice central gathering area with a wood burning fire and comfy chairs + games and puzzles. This is for sure - the breakfasts are really truly great. In the evening, walking access to Waterbury restaurants is also a big win.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, also very thorough about their policies and amenities. The breakfast was wonderfully fresh and delicious. They offered several vegetarian, vegan and regular options, which made it easy to pick. And you could get any combination of these options. The property was lovely and reflected the style of the period it was built. Our was large and comfortable, and even though it faced the street, it was very quiet.

We found this inn last minute on our road trip, and it ended up being one of the most memorable stops of the entire trip. From the moment we arrived, the owner welcomed us like old friends and gave us incredible dinner recommendations that totally set the tone for the evening. Every detail of the inn—from the location to the charm of the room—felt thoughtful and cozy. It honestly felt like stepping into an episode of Gilmore Girls. In the morning, I woke up to the smell of fresh scones baking, which was such a dream. Breakfast was amazing, and the staff went above and beyond, helping us map out the next day of our road trip over a fresh, delicious meal. It was such a special experience and one I won’t forget.
