"My second stay at The Glen, friendly staff/owners. Different room this time round but really spacious, clean and with all you would need for a break away. Breakfast is still really good with a wide selection and freshly cooked. Ideal hotel for my needs being situated close to family and excellent for days out within the Borders and close to Tweedbank for the train to Edinburgh with free parking. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again."

"The Abbey Residence has a rooming house feel. We had a spacious room with large but dated ensuite. The walls could use a lick of paint, but there were no real issues with the room. Wifi was good and our room had a good sized Roku based smart TV with lots of streaming options. Parking in central Edinburgh is hard so leave your car at the Abbey Residence and catch the bus into town from the bus stop just across the road. Itā€™s no high end hotel, but our room was clean and comfortable with good wardrobe and desk space. The staff were friendly and helpful. A local supermarket was just across the road if you need any ancillary items. Thereā€™s some traffic noise from the adjacent streets, but not enough to stop us from getting a good nightā€™s sleep on the large soft bed. Overall a much more pleasant experience than youā€™d expect for the price point. Highly recommended for those wanting good value."
