"We were given a room that had nothing to do with the pictures in the app, really really small and dark, we rarely stayed in such bad rooms. Too bad as the receptionist was a very knowledgeable and nice man and even offered us welcome drinks...but in the end is about the room and this one was really bad (I think it was room 10 maybe), outside the room also like an overgrown garden. It was quite odd with the payment, didn't worked and took a while. Sorry to leave this review, I rarely do...but that room has nothing to do with a 4 star hotel."

"The room was great! Really warm, awesome bed and bathroom. The reason for the lower scores was breakfast; breakfast is brought in on a tray from an external supplier. The first day was ok, although it’s obvious the tray had sat for a while. When we went to breakfast we found the room was locked and the delivery guy standing outside in the cold (1c) with our breakfast on the tray. At 09:16 (we had asked for breakfast at 09:00 at check-in) a lady turned up to open the door. The breakfast and room were freezing cold but we were hungry and most places in town don’t open until 10am so ate up! There was no apology or explanation offered. So overall, great hotel but I’d recommend you skip breakfast."

"This is a fabulous property in the lovely town of Leiden. The owner was very helpful and communicative which added to the experience. Only comments would be it’s worth noting there is a spiral staircase to access the property - lots of character but tricky to navigate big cases plus it’s on a Main Street - quietens down in the later evening but quite lively early on - overall thoroughly recommended "
