"Ed was very knowledgeable and interesting. He gave us several great suggestions for places to visit and eat. He also offered us a tour of his property on his 4 wheeler, which was a lot of fun. I was able to feed the animals from the corn that grew on his property, too. Be sure to visit with him if you get the chance. The accommodations are part of Ed's house in the country. It's laid back and rural-not spotless but homey. :)"

"Room was clean and everything was in good condition. They only do housekeeping on a limited day schedule so it's good to be aware of that. We asked for a change of towels and that was promptly taken care of. Yes, they serve breakfast and it's the usual for these kind of places. We're not a fan but managed to find something to have. Overall, the place was good and I’d recommend it for a stay in the area, assuming you don't book under demand pricing, which can be quite high for the area."

"Our stay at in the Cowboy Retreat at Cody’s Ranch was lovely! Ed greeted us and provided us a great overview of the property inside and out. The space was clean, well furnished (great beds!), and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and walking down to see the chickens and buffalo.The indoor hot tub was a bonus, and we enjoyed it after a day of outdoor activity. Ed’s recommendation to get dinner at Jones’ Black Angus in Prairie du Chien was terrific!! We highly recommend staying here!"
