This was a charming resort on Lake Champlain. We had a cabin with a lake view and wished we had booked more than one night. Even though we stayed on off season, we felt there was plenty to do and see. Staff were top notch, recommending an excellent restaurant in Middlebury when the resort restaurant was closed for a wedding. Highly recommended.
Cottage was perfect with a lake cove view. Adirondack chairs everywhere so you can watch the sunsets over the mountains to west. Gardens were beautiful! Make sure you hike the trails along the lake.
Surprisingly a very nice upscale resort that the photos in Expedia did not do justice. Awesome accommodations and good dining options which can be rare in remote areas of VT
Great getaway
Music in the lounge is great
Gorgeous views, nice common areas, beautiful gardens,
wonderful harbor
Lots of activities
Excellent for families
There was only one restaurant available for dinner and we were seated next to an anniversary party of about 35 people with several young kids. The party should have been in a private dining area as it was really awkward being seated right next to them. While there was some humor in it (they brought us a piece of the cake) it spoiled our dinner. Additionally the food wasn’t great. My husband’s salmon was over cooked and my country pie was not made correctly so they comped it. Also, we made the hotel reservation through Expedia and selected the pet friendly amenity. I selected one of the room choices and was checked in to it when we arrived. I confirmed that we had a dog and was even given dog cookies. We went out for a walk and got several messages insisting that we come to the front desk as soon as possible. Turns out the room we had was in a building where they didn’t put people with dogs. After being told they were going to
move us, and waiting outside (they don’t allow dogs in the lobby) they decided it would be ok for us to stay in the room but the dog couldn’t bark. Sheesh! I didn’t need the drama or the stress. The facilities and location were beautiful but not sure I’d go back given the operations.
We stayed at Summit, a newer building. Much nicer than the older cottages. Waterside was beautiful, boat ride around the lake was a gem

Liked: Staff & service
The property is scenic, but the cabin was tiny and shabby and so overpriced. One redeeming thing was the abundance of activities and the wonderful dining experience.
We loved our cozy cabin on stilts right on the water. Pleasantview cabin had all the privacy and views. A resort around for generations. Has Dirty Dancing vibes. Beautiful property and service. So glad we stayed!
Absolutely beautiful property with lovely gardens everywhere. The harbor staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a bit outdated and the food was okay for the price. The pool is fantastic! My children had such a good time.
Quiet, private, great location nestled in a protected harbor and Lake Champlain; nice swimming area in the Lake as well as a beautiful outdoor pool. Well-maintained golf course, dining options, even a "snack shack." 90 minute "shipwreck" cruise on the Lake was fun (underwater drone utilized to actually show us some of the 200 wrecks that litter the bottom of Lake Champlain). Our stay was made most wonderful by the awesome staff, most especially the front desk people who have great attitudes and a willingness to go out of their way to be helpful; all were amazing but especially Tanner and Zee! Thank you for making a first time visitor feel right at home!
Wish we'd had more time there to enjoy the lovely resort grounds and more of the facilities. Room was large and cabin-like in that there was a back deck and screen door out onto it (as well as a solid door, of course). It rained the day and night there, and we left the back door open to hear the lovely rain all night ~
The only surprise to us was having no tv in the room - fine with the many outdoor activities but on rainy days and nights we would've liked to have had one~
