"The resort was above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast buffet was outstanding - especially the fresh pastries and the omelette bar manned by Heinz. The snorkeling right off shore was fabulous. If we ever are able to return to Moorea, we will definitely stay at the Sofitel Kia Ora again!"

"This is a very hard review for me to write Pros: - Beautiful, authentic house - Gated and feels very safe - Great location - Incredible almost private like beach just a two minute walk away - Plenty of parking Cons: - The power went out for a day and a half so we were scrambling to find a hotel that was open. The house managers were very communicative and came by the house. But it was like pulling teeth to get a refund for that day. - The main living area of the house does not have AC. So it's just so so so hot hanging in the main house - The bugs are a real problem. Any tiny piece of food dropped will have hundreds of ants within an hour - I guess I should have been more thoughtful when I saw pictures of bug nets on the beds. They are definitely needed. If there weren't so many bugs this was a great place. Reminder that there is no heated dryer so it's hard to get clothes truly dry in such a muggy environment. I used the floor hanger thing and directed the fan against it. "

"If you’re looking for pure relaxation, this is the perfect place. Right on the beach and nestled in a lush garden, it’s a haven of peace and tranquility. Each morning, watching the sunrise while listening to the crashing waves felt incredibly therapeutic.The bungalow was well equipped with everything we needed, including a large shower and a stove for preparing meals, details we truly appreciated. Toshimi and her family were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with great recommendations. We would gladly return anytime."

"I really wanted to give this place high reviews, but unfortunately the great pluses this property has (amazing location right on the water and views) are negated by an overzelous and controling owner. Prepared to be scolded, warned and admonished for many things a paying costumer would not in other stablishments. I.e. do not take the kayak out in the beautiful bay because it could be damaged by the coral..are u serious? Why have a kayak on the property if it cant be used. Or, dont leave the AC running or the lights on when you leave because it is very expensive (are u kidding me? I am a mature person who manage a budget of over $50M and have delivered many large construction projects and you are treating me like a 5 yr old?). This is a nice property and the owner tries to be nice, but from the hospitality biz perspective, its management needs a whole diffrent perspective. Moorea is an amazing, fantastic, laid back place. One shouldnt go there and pay good money to be treated like misbehaved kid."

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home! The host was very welcoming and made special touches to make our stay special. We also really enjoyed the beach access where we could swim, snorkel, and look for sea shells. We enjoyed seeing the black tip sharks and dolphins from the beach. "

"We had an absolutely delightful stay. We were greeted so warmly and were given great recommendations on seeing whales and the best baguettes to buy. The bungalow was clean and comfortable, and right on the lagoon's door where we saw beautiful fish snorkelling. Our only regret is not staying longer! Recommendations: bring reef/water shoes along with snorkelling gear. It is easiest to find the bungalow during the day. "
