As it turned out, we were the only visitors staying in the hotel, so had a nice opportunity for a chat over a beer - well stocked with what appeared to be the full range of bottled beers from Purple Moose Brewery of Porthmadog. "We enjoyed our 3 night break in room 5. The views were spectacular from all 3 windows. Bed was comfortable and room a good size . I have marked it slightly down for 2 reasons. 1. The bathroom is tiny, quite difficult to manoeuvre, but functional enough. 2. Breakfast. The choice of cooked breakfast was limited to full breakfast or parts thereof. "Borthwen b&b is a fantastic place to stay. Colin and Lisa were such kind and caring hosts and nothing was too much trouble. It was my partners birthday and they even put a birthday candle on his breakfast, he was thrilled to bits! The b&b was spotless, quiet and very comfortable, and the view from there is spectacular. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was probably the best I've ever had and they were able to provide me a vegetarian option which was much appreciated....

"Nice hotel, and the most popular venue in Dolgellau. Ensure you arrange your evening meal before 8pm, as everything stops serving early (out of season), including the hotel. Was extremely disappointing to be left with just a kebab shop at 8:20pm, with absolutely no alternatives. Town has some nice eateries, but everything shuts early and it feels like a ghost town by 9pm. "
