"Wonderful place to stay! My wife & I loved it! We were able to see the northern lights, the bed was comfy, shower was amazing and the view was very nice! 10/10 "
Spacious, luxurious house with a lot of natural wood
10/10 Excellent
"Stunning location with great amenities. The hot tub was amazing—we greatly enjoyed using it multiple times. We utilized the kitchen the whole week we were there, and it had everything we needed. We loved the stereo system. The property location would be dark enough to see the northern lights—but we were unlucky with the weather with cloud coverage while we were there. We may have to return to try again."
"The ultimate in relaxation, peace and calmness. This was our third stay in one of the properties at this location and we fall more in love each time. The accommodation has everything you could need, and between the hot pot and the views, you’ll never want to leave."
"The setting could not have been more gorgeous at this house, set along a lovely fjord with crystal blue ocean waters. We spent hours relaxing in the Icelandic "hot pot" (hot tub) in the rear of the property, soaking muscles and clearing our minds. (Unfortunately we were not as lucky as other reviewers and did not see any whales, but we did spot a seal near the local harbor.)The house was clean and spacious, easily big enough for 4-5 people. Owner Thomas emailed us a very helpful, 30-page guide to the house and surrounding region, with advice on local attractions. If you like to kayak, I'd recommend checking out Cape Tours, which is based a block away, and whale-watching in Hauganes, directly across the harbor.Grenivik is a bit out of the way. It's about a half-hour's drive from Akureyri and adds that much more time to trips to Lake Myvatn, Dettifoss, Husavik. etc. But to us, it was worth it to enjoy the beauty and isolation. We loved our stay."
Wonderful holiday house on the Nollur farm at Eyafjord
10/10 Excellent
"The property was wonderful. The instructions that were sent over covered every aspect of the stay and made it very simple. I would absolutely stay at this site again."
"We enjoyed our stay at The Herring House. Helga & Dagur were fantastic hosts. Breakfast was great: yogurt, breads, homemade jam, meat, fruit, juice. They kindly provided gluten free bread on request. The need was comfy. The room was dark and very quiet. We had a cabin with its own bathroom. Just be aware that the shower is outdoors and shared."
