I was dealing with a heavily emotional domestic situation. When I asked the staff for help, the security guard (Drammond, sp?) told the front desk worker not to help me and to make me go upstairs by myself to retrieve my things when I told him I felt endangered. I put my belongings in my car and told the security that I could not get my ex to leave my room and that he had stolen money and a phone from me. He asked me if I wanted the lady at the front desk to call the police, and I told him I did. He told her to call the police, and then told me that since I was having my ex evicted, I would need to leave with him even though the room was in my name. He lied when the police came and claimed I threatened him even though the front desk worker was just feet away and told the police she didn’t hear any threats. I had to leave in the middle of the night while I was already distraught and make a two hour trip home. I do believe it was racially motivated as I am a white woman, and the security guard and my ex are black men.
