A good option

We had a very pleasant stay in the hotel, which was clean, well furnished and decorated. The location of the hotel is in a quite part, close to the beach and within walking distance of the old part of the town. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when trying to find a place to eat on December 25th. Breakfast offerings are simple but abundant. Sperlonga comes alive during the summer months and for the rest of the year it appears to be boarded up. The hotel's restaurant also is not available during the off season. Wifi, while free, can do with a boost as it tended to drop off frequently.

Peaceful, clean, stylish and modern.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was in a quiet area but only a short walk from the bustling centre of Sperlonga and also the picturesque old town with its lovely bars and restaurants. The hotel was kept immaculate, with cleaners constantly in evidence. The overall vibe was elegant, pleasingly modern, but low key, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We often had the pool to ourselves and could always get a sunbed. One criticism: the restaurant staff (although pleasant) were rather amateur considering the high prices and general upmarket feel of the restaurant. At one meal we waited at our table for 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged. No menus, no hellos, no water, nothing. Overall I would highly recommend Sperlonga and the Ganimede hotel for a relaxing break and a taste of authentic Italy.

Härlig relax

Litet, lugnt hotell med personlig service och hög standard. Fina gemensamma utrymmen vid pool och matsal. Lite för liten pool för barnen att leka i (9 och 11 år gamla). Hotellet har en buss som kan ta en till den gamla delen av Sperlonga men vi gick alltid (härlig omgivning och bra motion). Krånglig men gratis wi-fi. Som vanligt i Italien, en enkel frukost.

Great Food, but Hotel a Bit Soulless

Sperlonga itself features a wonderful, family-oriented beach with a long expanse of soft brown sand and beautiful blue water. The Ganimede Hotel is about 5 minutes from that beach, plus another 5 minutes to the hotel's private beach area. Their private beach area features toilets, a snack bar, and tiki-hut style umbrellas. The old city of Sperlonga is definitely worth visiting. The hotel itself, though, is a bit soulless. Not that the staff isn't nice--they go about their business efficiently. But you could get more value for your money at one of the more interesting older hotels right on or across the street from the beach. Also, the design of the rooms is probably the worst I've ever seen. Both my wife and I, in separate incidents, struck a transparent bureau in the bathroom. The user interface for lights in the room is potentially the most over-engineered device I've ever seen. All that said, the restaurant in the Ganimede is a huge cut above most hotel restaurants.

Super hjælpsomt personale. Vi rejste med en baby og en på 4 år. Vi fik varmet babymad og vand til flasker. God babyseng med tyk madras og tæppe. Lækkert med mørklægningsgardiner. Fint udvalg på morgenbuffeten og i gåafstand til strand og butikker.

A gem of a place!

We had no idea what to expect as we chose this location and Hotel randomly. What a very pleasant surprise and definitely a place to return. The only disappointment was that we booked for one night instead of several!

Small yet spacious hotel

Nice small hotel in the fabulous town of Sperlonga. The rooms are spacious and clean and the open plan breakfast / restaurant / bar is lovely. The only negatives are a lack of menu options for kids at dinner and that it can be a little noisy due to the design of the hotel as its all open plan with tiled floors and nothing to absorb the noise. Great place to stay though, with excellent beach facilities.

All in all a good quiet hotel but compared to the other places we stayed in Italy the staff are not as friendly as we would have liked. Regarding 'hidden' charges: We misplaced our room key- just a plastic card and were charged EUR5. We asked for beach towels and charged EUR5 each. Another lady came in asking for 6 towels (for 3 of them), she said she knew Katalina so didn't have to pay? When we checked out we were asked to pay for 6 towels, which we didn't have as had only used the two. It just felt like they were trying to add costs to our bill.

Had a lovely stay and happy to recommend...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ganimede. As a mature couple, we found the room comfortable and very clean, the location excellent (about 5 minutes stroll to the north beach), the staff pleasant and the service undertaken with a smile. For the out-of-season price, it was excellent value. Oh yes - and Sperlonga is a very pleasant hill town with good facilities and views. We would return.

Get away from it all

Lovely hotel, modern and bright. Bar and restaurant are in a raised curved glass fronted room. Lots of different sitting areas some secluded. Small pool. Hotel is out the back of Sperlonga so a car is necessary. Parking in Sperlonga was difficult when we were there on a Sunday. There are plenty of restaurants.

Very modern and a block from the beach

We stayed here one night on our way to Naples. We wished we had stayed longer! Beautiful hotel with nice pool one block from the beach and the main street of the town. The room was small but very clean and comfortable.

Supert nytt hotell. Anbefales.

Vi tilbrakte 7 dager her. Fikk sett masse i området (2 timer til Pompei). Hotellet ligger i ett stille villaområde med kort avstand til strand og like ved gamlebyen. Hotellet disponerer eget parasoll/solstol/restaurant-område på stranden. 25 euro for 2 stoler + 7 euro for 3 stol. Flott område. Ganimede har lite basseng, men området er rent og pent. Hyggelig engelskspråkelig betjening (selv om de ikke viste at hotellets strandområde var steng en dag). Svært bra rengjøring av hyggelige damer! daglig. Frokosten var rikholdig og bra. Ferdigskåret loff + litt grovere brød som en kan skjære selv:), og masse kaker/frukt. Nytt anlegg, parkering bak hotellet eller i kjeller. Sperlonga er verdt ett stopp. Borg fra 1500 tallet som likner en bunkers inneholder kunstgalleri. Verdt besøk kun grunnet utsikten! Gamlebyen med svært trange smug har restauranter og små butikker. Strender på begge sider av byen. Koselig sted! Besøk til nabobyen Terracina (20 min med bil) anbefales. Fundamentet til nye tempelet er fra 400 før Kristus. Ingen shoppingby.

Excellent hotel

A relatively new hotel in a quiet location within easy walking distance of the beach. It has a good swimming pool, which is overlooked by the terrace on which breakfast is served. Breakfast was very good. Staff were efficient and helpful. Parking was available in the grounds.
