"We had a lovely weekend stay at this apartment. It was spotlessly clean, modern and very comfortable-perfect for a relaxing getaway. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were cosy and the whole place had a fresh, welcoming feel. The only small thing we noticed was that there weren’t many mirrors, which would have been handy-but that didn’t take away from the overall great experience. Would definitely stay again! "

"Nice"

The Palace Hotel

8/10 Good

"Good hotel. But would not recommend a room with a balcony. Upgraded from a standard to a seaview and was given a room with a balcony. However, didn't use the balcony as it was full of pigeons. The prevention methods included spikes which had become unglued and were falling off and netting which had big holes in it. This has allowed pigeons to nest. One pigeon had got caught in the netting and died. Once notified, the staff were quick to remove it. But this would not stop me from staying again as there was no problem with anything else. Be warned, the parking is a car park opposite which costs £25 per 24 hours."

"The location is excellent- very handy for the Cliffs Pavillion where we were going and also the beach and town centre. We were very lucky to get a parking space in the hotel car park which was great. We had room 103 which had a lovely view over the water. It was a sweltering hot day and the staff had thankfully put the AC on in our room which was much appreciated."

"There are many good things about this hotel and I would stay here again. My negatives were although the cooked options were good why does a four star establishment provide mostly tinned fruit at breakfast and yogurt in tubs. You used to be better than this. I also went for a swim at 6.30pm on a Friday to find that two thirds of the pool was taken by classes. I found that there is a list available for club members but not hotel guests. I could also have been informed as I went to get changed but instead sat by the poolside for a wasted 30 minutes and could not use the facility for exercise. Not surprisingly I was less than happy. This review is not to help travellers plan better but for staff to provide a better environment for those guests."

"The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings. I was lucky to receive a room which overlooked the lake. Although there was no balcony, I was able to open the window & hear the noise of the ducks and water rippling. Good selection of food in the bar & variety of seating with couple of tvs to watch the football. Rooms were a bit dated but the beds were comfortable & there was tea & coffee making facilities. The main reason I stated “dated” was the large wash basin looked like it was from the 70s & shower over the bath (one of my major bug bears. How many people want a bath in a hotel when they are travelling or only staying a night or two). Overall, value for money & taking into account the setting, I would certainly stay again."
