Regrettably, I can say without hesitation that this was the worst hotel experience I have encountered in my 45 years of travel. The stay was marred by unprofessional service, poor maintenance, and a complete disregard for basic customer care. I was shocked by the substandard conditions and appalled by the overall management of the property.
Summary of Key Issues:
1. Facilities & Room Condition
No power sockets by the bedside—highly inconvenient and far below modern hospitality standards.
No air-conditioning or ventilation system; windows restricted to 2–3 inches of opening, making the room hot and uncomfortable in warm weather.
Rust in the bathtub and cobwebs on the windows—clear signs of poor upkeep and lack of cleanliness.
Vending machines accepted cash only—a surprising and outdated limitation.
2. Staffing & Guest Service
Only one receptionist handling check-ins for a 113-room hotel during peak season—resulting in long queues and unnecessary delays.
The hotel appeared chronically understaffed. Employees were visibly stressed and overwhelmed, which affected both service quality and guest experience.
A £5 daily fee to access gym facilities, which should be included in the room rate, especially at a hotel claiming a four-star rating.
No room service offered unless staying more than 5 nights—a bizarre and unacceptable policy that contradicts industry norms.
An awful hotel experiencem the place should be closed down.
