Experience Romanian rural life in it's purest form by visiting the small farming community of Sinca Noua. There are few modern tools used and it feels like a giant step back in time. Arranged through villagelife.ro, we stayed with a local family for four days. We helped in the fields, learned how to make traditional dishes, even took in a music recital and local church festivities. The hosts knew little English but that added to the charm and we were able to pick up some Romanian. This is an impressive initiative to bring tourism to rural areas, and one that we can't rave about enough! Considering today's issues of overtourism especially - as travelers we should be frequenting the road less traveled. #TroverRT
