The town comes alive at night. The Cathedral was an incredible experience. There was a terrific bakery a couple blocks away with amazing coffee and baked goods. We toured the Palace and it was breathtaking. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Driving is a little challenging and I would not recommend renting a car for everyone. Using Google maps proved to be a hit and miss proposition because it can't identify barriers on streets and some streets closed off to cars because of vendors

I did walk around San Salvador at different times during the day and night. I used public and other kind of transportation and I felt very safe. Everywhere I went was nice and the people looked happy.

There is a lot of construction happening and driving around is not easy. Much traffic in some areas. Roads and highways not driver friendly or easy to navigate even using apps (Ways/ Google)
