Definitely not worth the price!
We wanted this to be THE place, but when we arrived, we walked into what felt like an oven. There were visible A/C units in the bedrooms, but we were told we could not use them because they were not hooked up for guests. A/C was not listed under amenities, which we had not noticed prior to booking the property.
The week we visited was in the MID 90s.
When we contacted Veronica, we were told the house was designed for cross ventilation and to keep the windows open. At night, the house was a little cooler but still in the mid 80s.
Unfortunately, our group was unable to sleep the first night, so we decided we would book another house for the remainder of our trip. The host, told us it was our fault for not seeing A/C on the amenity list. It hadn’t occurred to me to ask based on the nightly rate and temperatures in Nicaragua. She informed me that I was gaslighting her and that we needed to take responsibility for our mistake, which meant no refund.
When we woke up the next morning, we were shocked to find bat poop falling from the ceiling in the master bedroom. We were unable to get in touch with her, so we contacted VRBO. They asked for pictures and video, which we provided. After several hours, and getting settled into our new spot, we were finally granted a partial refund. But we did end up paying for the first night plus cleaning and fees. We do not recommend this property to anyone until the bat issue is resolved and the A/C is fully functional.
