The location is a nothing burger and the hotel parking was closed for whatever reason but parking spots were available in front of the hotel. "Well located property 5 minutes from historic center. Desk staff not terribly friendly. On site parking not available when we arrived. Fortunately street parking was available. Rather long walk to our room, which was good sized and nicely appointed. Breakfast was good, but over run with scarce seating and some items (fresh fruit) already eaten and unavailable."

"The location of this hotel is excellent, with the center of tourist activity within walking distance. We visited during the hottest summers on record and we toured the city and boated on the canal. I suggest taking the city train tour and have a relaxing tour of the old town. There are many fine restaurants in the old city, make reservations or get there early. I continued my journey after 2 days and I will visit Narbonne on the Southern coast."

"Checkin was a disaster compounded by unnecessary surliness and incompetence. They demand a 24 hour pre check in online and I did that noting that I would stop by at 1 pm to drop bags and avail myself of their luggage storage option. I received an email back thanking me for pre-check in. I showed up at 3 pm and there was a family from Montreal also looking to check in early. The phone didn’t pick up then a random guy came and accosted us for being early and I explained I spelled it out in the pre check in. He said to give him 5 minutes. That turned into fifteen minutes and then some other guy showed up and accosted us again and shut the door and left us out on the street in the hot weather. I found his language to be rude and abrasive as did the Montreal family. Finally some hotel guests took pity on us and let us in and showed us where the luggage storage was and we went to get some water nearby (why that was so difficult for the hotel staff Ill never know). I don’t know why they bother with the pre-registration kabuki. Then my room didn’t have a frying pan but there was a whisk and a spatula. After three days I gave up asking. It’s unfortunate because it’s a nicely renovated old building in a convenient spot though it was interesting that they have a placard at the front desk advising guests not to argue with staff so somehow the surliness is built into the hospitality illusion they offer. It was like a surly Fawlty Towers Totally uncalled for. C’est dommage."
