Felt very run down and not clean. Front desk agent was very nice. Bed was actually comfortable but basic stuff, like put a mattress pad or something between sheet and mattress. Towels were small and overused.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
location is excellent. As this is obviously an abandoned Holiday Inn, hopefully it is a renovation in progress.
Room Itself was clean. Building itself is just pretty gross, ran down and smells. I have a weak stomach and was struggling on the second floor specifically. Not to the fault of the hotel but even the non smoking rooms just couldnt get away from the cigarette smell. Check in/check out was easy. Parking was good. Heat worked well. Bed wasnt good.
The room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The property is falling into disrepair. Things were worn out, broken, and the grass was a foot tall.

Hotel would be worth about $40 per night.
Was worried about my safety while there.
odd people loitering about the entryway
exterior door lock to the room didn’t work. Had to make sure I used the internal door locks while I was inside the room. Whenever I left the room, I took all my valuables with me.
Floors throughout the building are dirty, furniture in the room is broken down, had to make a phone call to get someone to the front desk to check in, motel is cold and is almost empty, very loud scraping snow removal at 6 o’clock in the morning, no breakfast, all the internal amenities such as pool and fitness area are completely gone, all side doors are locked and inaccessible from the outside, only five cars in the parking lot of a very large hotel. Locals tell me that this Motel is known for possible unsafe activities, such as drug deals.
looks to me like the owner is trying to squeeze the last drop of possible profit out of it before closing the motel permanently.
If all you need is a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom and a hot shower on the cheap this is the place for you. It’s also very quiet and private because it’s mostly empty.
There’s no coffee or plastic water cups but you get a fridge and a tv, soap and tiny shampoo bottles.
I wasn't disappointed in terms of value for money; contrary to the reviews, this hotel may no longer have the luster of the old Holiday Inn, but I would honestly stay there again on my next visit to Rutland.
The room was very nice, clean, with the expected little extras. The bed, bathroom, refrigerator and microwave, air conditioning, and TV were all very good. And what about the location, which is very convenient, with all amenities nearby?
It looked abandoned when we pulled up, grown in grass/weeds all over. Nothing in the building is open except for checking in to a room. When we entered the room, we smelled cigarette smoke right away. Then we noticed a separate door at the back of the room. It was unlocked & lead to a grass common area. Everything about the room made us feel very comfortable & if it wasn’t so late already, we would have left.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Former Holiday Inn. Absolutely no amenities. All carpets badly worn but reasonably clean. My room was clean. One of the beds was removed but the headboard was still screwed to the wall. Furniture was very sparse-no chair, no luggage stand, no toilet paper, however housekeeping rooms were nearby and unlocked. Bathroom was in very good condition and repair. No lamp on nightstand. Drapes didn’t close completely. TV worked properly. For $89 it was exactly what I expected. I will consider using it again. Most women probably wouldn’t stay home. Good place for “bottom feeders.”
located in the perfect place between Newark, New Jersey and Stowe Vermont lies the Cortina inn. The location is perfect for vacation stop but the hotel itself it is less than ideal. The pictures in the review make you think you're getting this newly redone cozy bedroom. When in actuality you're getting a new Amazon metal bed frame, a fleece blanket where there is no down comforter to be found and the original 1990s furniture where the mini fridge does not fit in its own spot.
Upon first arrival at the location, the initial room key given did not open the door to my room and the original carpeting has never seen a cleaning. Smelling both of mildew and every Pall Mall that had ever been smoked in there. In addition to each room sign, having a no smoking sign but fresh cigarette smoke in the air. Upon returning to the front desk to explain the situation, the attendant there was more than helpful but initial contact had assumed we would be leaving the hotel for the night and did not offer a change in rooms first. Upon asking for a change in room, my fiance went to check out the room to make sure that the door opened and it did not smell of mildew and cigarettes. Fill the hallway still coded in the same holiday and carpeting that had never been cleaned. The room itself did not have carpeting and had what seemed to be new hardwood flooring. But as stated, the furniture was old. The bathroom in disrepair and the TV remote absolutely disgusting.
Staff was accommodating, facilities lacking. Renovation underway and not really ready. Breakfast advertised, but not provided. Coffee only available in the lobby.
Not much to recommend other than that the skimpy staff was nice.
The hotel was cold, the room was 50 when we got there. Didn’t get much over 60 degrees, and the shower halfway worked. Also there bed “comforters” are just a casual couch blanket. Dress warm
