Top Roundstone Ceramics Hotel Reviews

House with character

10/10 Excellent
"We have been coming to Connemara for 34 years, and this house is in the perfect spot for us. Not only do you get gorgeous views over the tranquil Betraboy Bay, but on the other side of the bay you can see Roundstone and round to the east, the Twelve Pins mountain range. The house is impeccably designed so that all the communal living spaces are functional and spacious, while somehow managing to fit in five spacious bedrooms where you can be tucked away with some quiet and privacy. It really is a functional house for a large family gathering. The house has an abundance of options when it comes to different facilities, from washing machines and dryers to dishwashers and ways to dry out beach kit. There's plenty of garden space for kids to run around, has good Wi-Fi, everything you could ever hope for when booking a house for a week. On top of that, John and Mairead were incredibly helpful and courteous, quick to respond with any queries we had. They really made us feel at home. Some people in other reviews have mentioned that Glinsk is a remote area, and this is true. It's definitely as asset. This is why you can enjoy local beaches, walks and mountains without the hundreds of tourists that are now flocking to other parts of Ireland's coast. There are plenty of shops and coffee shops nearby - within a ten-minute drive you can get all the basics, but Clifden, just 30 minutes away, has all the big supermarkets where you can get everything you could ever need. Highly recommend."

Hawthorn Lodge

Hawthorn Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"Clean and quiet lodge great for anyone looking for a peaceful stay. A 10 minute walk into the town and a 20 minute bus ride to Connemara National Park which was absolutely stunning. The breakfast was quite good as well for a buffet style arrangement, able to have a full Irish if you so please as well as fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and oatmeal. The staff were very accommodating as there were huge delays with the rails and a missed train the day we arrived and we didn't get in until after 8 pm with no problems."

"My husband and I stayed at Abbeyglen Castle for our five year wedding anniversary and had an amazing time! Ronan, one of the owners, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The property is beautiful and so well maintained, our room was wonderful, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Such a special place to celebrate, and we will absolutely be back again!"

House between coast, lake + mountains: every window view is a Connemara highlight!

10/10 Excellent
"Gorgeous property in beautiful location for visiting Connemara and beyond.Well appointed, clean house with everything available for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Lovely stylish decor and lots of space to sit; to the front you can watch the sun set over the waters and at the back there are mountain and lake views.A short stroll to the most perfect beach - lovely sands, rock pools for the children to explore and rocks to clamber on plus the crystal clear waters if you fancy a dip! At low tide you can explore an island across from the beach.Handy for nearby Roundstone and Clifden plus the Alcock & Brown landing site, the underrated Pine Island Viewpoint, Kylemore Abbey and Galway City! An absolutely hidden gem and tranquil retreat. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful holiday. We even got to see the solar eclipse during our stay!"

Apartment 144 - Clifden

Apartment 144 - Clifden

8/10 Good
"The apartment met our needs for our stay, however there are a few things that can be improved. The directions are challenging. It would help to mention that the apartment is above the AIB and also to say that the turn is just past The Station House Hotel. There is only one key fob provided for the garage which makes it difficult when there are two cars. There is not always a space available in the parking lot outside if the person not holding the fob returns first. The washer/dryer is extremely difficult to use. Apparently one of the previous renters wrote fairly good instructions and put them in the book but if you don’t know they are there it does not help. The frying pans are in dangerous condition and unusable. I purchased my own and gave it to a family member in the area when we left Clifden. There should be a note on the freezer part of the fridge to close it firmly, otherwise it remains open slightly. Mt suggestions are meant to make small improvements, not to criticize. As far as recommending the property, that is a maybe, mostly due to accessing the unit."
