Darwin was very nice and easy to get along with. He was helpful and had good recommendations and good communication. I would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet place in Quito on pretty street in La Mariscal. Close enough to bars and restaurants if that is your thing, but quiet enough to get away from it all. Thanks Darwin and La Posada!
The hostal is on the edge of the night life district and has restaurants in the neighbourhood. Busses are nearby. The hostal is OK for two or three nights. Breakfast is poor, 2 slices of bread and scrambled eggs every morning. I wouldn't Go there again.
The proprietors were exceptional. They went far beyond expectations. Friendly, helpful, pleasant, professional, non-intrusive. Loved my room! Wouldn't consider any other accommodations for my next trip, in the Spring.
Everyone was very nice, polite, and friendly. Our rooms were clean. We had no problems. It was centrally located near restaurants and a Quito tour bus company. We also used their airport shuttle from and to the airport.
We booked the family room based on the information provided on the Expedia website. It was very misleading as we thought it included a sofa area in the room as was stated in the detailed description of the room. In fact, the sofa area is common space. These were our last two days in Ecuador and we really wanted a comfortable, private place to relax so we opted to leave and go elsewhere. I think it would be a great place for single travelers but the family room was not as advertised and was quite expensive for what was included. I should add that we contacted expedia when we got home and did recieve our money back. I am just leaving this review so others are not misled by the room description.
This was my first day in a hostel. It wasn’t a Hilton and it wasn’t a tent. Just what I thought it would be. The location is great, as it is next to a popular plaza, the street is a little dark, but overall that location is nice as it’s quiet enough to have peace and be close to the action.
This was perfect for us! We stayed a total of 7 nights over our stay as we traveled all over Ecuador. We mainly wanted a quiet place to sleep, and this fit the bill. The ladies were great to us, very friendly and helped us arrange a trip to Quilotoa. The street is a quiet one, away from the action, but yet only right around the corner by a few minutes walk. Good location, comfy bed, decent price- just what we were looking for.
I stayed here for 7 nights over two weeks with my son, as we explored and took day trips. This place for our needs perfectly! We had comfortable beds in a quiet neighborhood that is close to everything. The ladies were wonderful with us and helped us arrange a few tours, though if you’re not a Spanish speaker, it may be slightly more difficult. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a clean place to sleep after a long day of exploring.
