We booked two nights at the bamboo house, via Hotels.com, with the idea of hiking Mount Batur. Presumably like many other people visiting the area. We booked the king size deluxe room, the one with the triangular bamboo ceiling/roof, which was twice the price of a standard room. When we arrived we were shown to a standard room. After realising we hadn't been provided the room...

"Fantastic Villa with 2 rooms. We were a couple of friend Wayan & Familly our host was very nice and full of willingness. The restaurant was delicious All dishes was homemade and we had the opportunity to taste fresh Mahi Mahi and BBQ grilled fresh Tuna. The experience in the villa with private swiming pool was so cool and quite. Far from the busy Kuta experience "

"The staff were very good and friendly. The property is older hence 4 stars but the room was very spacious and the huge deck with the heart shaped tub was enjoyable. Great spot if you want to relax and read a book. Was able to snorkle right off the front door but not a lot of fish to see. Spa treatment was reasonable and nice. "

Pretty much everything is locally sourced, which is bonkers considering the huge amount of creations coming from the kitchen and bar. Thanks to chef Sheandy, Arsana (bar) and Budi (butler) for making this an unforgettable experience. Would definitely come back in a heartbeat 10/10"

"The Kirana Tembok is situated on a very nice spot at the beach. We (2 pax) stayed 7 nights at the very large family house (payed upfrade) which is very nice. The resort has a very nice garden. Kitchen is adequate but not very special. Pool is superb. We need to mention that on the fourth night we had a problem with little biting insects in our bed. Not nice at all (lot of bites) and we moved to another bedroom in the middle of the night. Told the staff next morning and they reacted efficiently...

"If you are coming for elephants, you are going to be very happy! There are currently 24 elephants and the opportunities for interaction are excellent. If you are coming for the opportunity to experience the ultimate in luxury, you could be a little disappointed. But you will not be disappointed in the staff! So set your expectations for elephants, and enjoy your stay! The gardening is beautiful, but the air conditioning and dining could be a little bit stronger."
