"Fabulous stay - luxurious, delicious fresh cooked meals, wonderful setting and wildlife, particularly birds and butterflies. Staff all very welcoming, knowledgeable tour guides. Real focus on eco tourism and sustainability. "
"Playa Cativo Lodge is a wonderful place and the accommodations, food and staff were absolutely perfect. It was nice to be so close to the gulf which was calm, warm, sandy and perfect for swimming.
My only complaint was that the entire front area of the lodge has been landscaped with grass and ornamental plants, many of which are not native. Because of this large open area few birds or animals come near the lodge. Bird watching was disappointing compared to lodges that have left the rainforest...
"A little piece of heaven. Very close to the Corcovado National Park, you can walk there. Everyday we would go on a hike, as soon as you walk out of the hotel you start seeing monkeys and all sorts of wildlife. Heck, you don't even need to leave the hotel. We had a group of scarlet macaws constantly hanging out in a tree right outside our room. And a brave little monkey paid a visit one day as well. The food prepared by Chef Coco was amazing! Everything was sourced locally and made from scratch....
"Its own little oasis by the beach. Quiet, lovely setting with wooded paths between buildings. Food was great and staff was fabulous. Highly recommend staying here form more than just a night or two "
"Beautiful villas, beautiful people and the surrounding view was breathtaking. The property management took very good care of me and breakfast was great. It was peaceful seeing the wild life and being away from all the city noise and distractions "
"Overall an interesting place with great views. The room had an overwhelming smell that you could almost taste like urinal pucks masking some unknown odour "
