2 hours hike to the Clara hutte. Starting from the umbalfalle (a series of waterfalls coming from the eternal snow region), through a stunning nature. Great place to spot Edelweiss.
After hiking up to the Eisseehütte from the Bodenalm parkingspot we had a nice drink and something to eat at the nice hut. The hike to the hut at about 2500m takes about 2,5 - 3 hours. After resting for some time we hiked further up the valley’s steep wall to the Eissee. This beautifull mountainlake is situated at about 2700m and looks stunning! #aboveitall

For 5 years I was planning to climb this Glacier in the Austrian Alps. It has a special meaning for me since it was my dad's dream to climb it, and due to his Dementia he can no longer do this. Last year I the weather gods finally allowed me to climb the 3666m Glacier - it took 2 days, and a 3am start on the final day. The final push required Crampons and roping up with others. The final 100m lead over a ridge that drops steeply to each side, but the clouds were obscuring it. Finally at the top we were able to catch this tiny glimpse of the ridge as the clouds lifted for only seconds. I am still in awe of this moment, the day and these majestic mountains. #adventure #outdoors #adventureaddict #grossvenediger #austria #mountains
