Excellent stay… we hope to return in the future….effortless check in …very well equipped and clean and walking distance to delicious restaurants, coffee shops the Alberta Rose Theater, etc
The red gem was one of the best places we have stayed at. It was artistic, functional and friendly. And wow what an assortment of walkable restaurants and night life! And if you just want to stay and cook, it has all you need. We would certainly stay again.
We loved staying at this beautiful little retreat! The place is even nicer in person than the listing. Fantastic neighborhood, beautiful gardens. Thank you!

Great Place
We had a great time staying here. The location is very convenient to the Alberta Arts District.
The location is within walking distance from Alberta Rose Theater and if I don't want to drive home on the Coast after a show, this is a great place to stay.

Great budget stay in super neighborhood
Best part of our stay was the location: a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to many restaurants, a terrific grocery store and transit lines. It is a great base from which to explore Portland.
Lovely stay with all the amenities of home away from home! Enjoyed the location in walkable distance from first coffee to easy visits with family and friends. Stunning gardens! No issues and host gave us great communications for a wonderful stay. Many thanks!

Fantastic place in portland
This is a wonderful place for two. It has everything you need and the backyard is such a relaxing spot to unwind. The location is perfect for exploring the Alberta street area.
We loved our stay at the small cottage. It was like being in the middle of a lovely garden. We were walking distance to restaurants in the Alberta district. Very comfortable accommodations with every thing you need. There isn’t air conditioning but plenty of fans so we never felt it was hot. I highly recommend renting this place for a fun location in Portland
This house had everything I needed. It was very quiet and private, too, with a lovely courtyard with a fountain!

Great location and comfortable house.
The Tiny Gem was great! My husband and I enjoyed our stay; bed was comfy, kitchen clean, bathroom and shower were clean and had warm water, and the room was even stocked with books, videos, travel guides and such. The neighborhood is great with a lot to do just a few blocks away. We spent most of our time out of the room, but would definitely stay again.

Great location
Enjoyed our second stay at the Tiny Red Gem. We love the location - in walking distance to fabulous restaurants, grocery, and galleries. We were happy to find the Columbia River Scenic Byway reopened after last year's fires.
Only complaint is unreliable, spotty internet service.

Loved the Alberta Arts Area! Many good restaurants and coffee right around the corner. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Guest house was comfortable and cute with nice garden to enjoy. Bikes were a bonus! Will be back for a return visit ☺️

excellent location with beautiful yard
We loved this quaint little guest house. It was in a great location, close to places to eat and the airport. The kitchen was well equipped. There were lots of good books to read, including helpful guide books in which we found several excellent local hikes. My only recommendation would be to buy some new pillows for the bed.

Cute, quiet place right in the Alberta Arts district neighborhood
Your place was perfect, well-decorated, and beautiful on the inside and out (in the yard). Great location to get to know Portland from. We hung out both in the neighborhood, and saw some Portland sights, went hiking at Forest Park, drove to Astoria and Cannon Beach, and drove to Columbia River Gorge and around Mt Hood (caught in a little snowstorm). Amazing trip, and look forward to coming back and staying here again!

Cozy hideaway in a perfect location.
We had an amazing time in Portland! This little gem gave us the perfect home base to explore. Steps away from the phenomenal public transit system, we could easily pop over to downtown for sightseeing. The neighborhood itself has public art at every turn and a collection of fantastic restaurants within easy walking distance.
Our hosts made sure that we had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend it and will stay here again if we return to Portland!

The floor was cold (we had to do double layers of socks) but granted it was freezing out..
Perfect location. You can walk two blocks to the Kennedy School to soak in the Soaking Pool. Great coffee and food also walking distance away. The room was great. Cold floor in the winter so pack your slippers. Bed was very comfy; futon was too bumpy to sleep on. Overall, a great stay.
