I had a safe experience at this hotel - if you are looking for a low budget place to lay your head, and can navigate the casual nature of the environment, you won't have a problem.
I would never book this hotel or motel or whatever you'd like to call it. The front desk lady had the worst attitude and the next day after I paid for another night they came into the room without knocking and just said " Oh I forgot you paid" and then left. I'm so happy we got our family out of there. -5 out of 10.
No elevator. Hallways are dirty. There’s one time I saw someone peed in the hallway and it took a long time to clean it. The bed is loud like it’s not well built. But the mattress is good. The pillows, I know it’s made of foam but foams from scratch like they just crumpled it together to fit in the pillow cases. The TV screen is broken. The staffs are friendly but cleanliness, location and other things are not recommendable to other guests.

Room was nice easy check in deposit not paid back to my card yet!
I love this place. I have stayed here several times, and every time, I’ve had a great experience. The hot water is reliable, the rooms are super clean, and honestly, for the price, you can’t beat the value.
I’ve also stayed at the Hyatt, which costs about four times as much, and the rooms were very similar. I will definitely be staying at Evergreen more often — the price and quality can’t be matched.
The front desk staff are friendly and professional; I’ve never had an issue. Also, the receptionist at the front is gorgeous, which is a nice bonus!
I was not familiar with hotel neighborhood, booked it couple of hours before I came to Portland for overnight stay while road tripping PNW. it’s located in pretty ghetto neighborhood. Front desk staff was supper nice. Room was clean but linen had stains on them, smoke detector was off the wall, shower wasn’t working which I was told ahead, there was no hot when I turned faucet. Next door ppl were loud, knocking on my door at 1 am, slamming in their door loud. Barely able to sleep, checked out early in the morning. It’s what you get for prove you pay.
No staff was available for checkin. After ringing the bell for 30 minutes standing out in the cold I left to find another hotel.

The lady who checked us in was professional and nice. However the outside of the property is quite run down and seemed unsafe though the lady assured us that they had CC TV cameras all around. The shower area was dirty (full of hair from previous guests), towels had stains, only 2 bath towels for 3 people. We asked for extra bath towel and it was the size of the hand towel. There is no place in the bathroom to keep the soap or anything else. We checked out early due to early flights (3:30 am checkout) and there were people who were drinking in the parking. One person was loiterning around talking on phone. Will not stay in this property again.

Stayed here last weekend and the experience was rough from the start. The lobby was locked even during the day, so check‑in happened through a window. I was given a key and told my room number verbally—nothing written, no receipt, no paperwork since I booked through Hotels.com. They also charged a $60 security deposit immediately instead of placing a hold.
The room had a comfortable bed and a nice headboard, but that’s where the positives ended. No hangers, the double lock didn’t work, and the heavy room doors slam loudly every time someone enters or leaves. The parking lot felt sketchy. The TV didn’t work until maintenance came to fix it.
I’d already seen reviews about delayed deposit refunds (7–10 days), so I contacted Hotels.com. They escalated it and called the hotel, but the property still wouldn’t provide any written confirmation. Only after that call did my deposit finally post the next day.
Overall: you get what you pay for, but the locked lobby, lack of transparency, and deposit issues make this a place I wouldn’t choose again.
The room itself isn’t so bad. Furniture and cleanliness and good. But my refrigerator didn’t work so I looked inside and it had an ode pack inside it to make it seem cold… so they knew it wasn’t working. Yuck!
The worst part is driving into a gated hotel where the gate is broken and they never fixed it. So it’s not gated. Also walking up to a glass window to check in with tons of cameras and a big screen behind her showing all the cameras. Gulp this is super sketchy and red flag.🚩
The lady herself wasn’t so friendly and she didn’t even greet me. I’ve stayed at so gross places but people are generally friendly and they provide service.
I showered and took all my stuff inside with me from traveling.👀
Then got a message of a friend in the same area and they told me to come stay with them. So I left after my shower and packed all my stuff up and checked out.
Also no elevator and the staircase is so smoky full of smells of cigarettes and other things.
If you have to stay here just be very cautious it’s not a place I feel comfortable staying at again. ✌
That hotel is horrible, there are prostitutes, drug addicts people fighting and screaming all night. The TV doesn't work and the staff has a very bad character
