Port Hueneme stay

I've stayed in VRBO facilities for 3 years always in August. This is the best as far as the kitchen goes. It is the most well equipped and recently remodeled with new appliances. There is a washer and dryer in the unit which are not new but they get the job done. The location and the building are fairly quiet but traffic outside the balcony gets loud at times but that wasn't really an issue for me. There is an indoor pool; I prefer outdoors but again, not an issue. This is a security building with gated entrance and exit, a key necessary for the elevator as well. The host was responsive to my needs and I appreciated that. The location could be better in terms of being closer to supermarkets and restaurants but if you have a car it isn't a problem.

Great base of operations

My wife and I had a great time staying for one month, using Port Hueneme as our base of operations for tons of activities in the Ventura County area. The property was great, and the apartment complex had ease of access to many walking routes. Everything was clean and check-in/check-out was a breeze.

Port Hueneme Condo

The unit was nice and clean. The complex in general was not well maintained. The beach was nearby and not crowded. Good place to watch surfers. Needs better lighting in the bedrooms. Needs towel rods in the bathroom. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the unit. One bedroom mattress was comfortable and one needs to be replaced.

Very nice kitchen and living room, but rest of unit needs major decluttering

We enjoyed the indoor pool and easy access to beach. The condo unit was pretty much as depicted online. Kitchen and living room were attractive and modern. Bedrooms, bath and laundry area need some major decluttering. We had expected to move some of the excess "coastal" decor into closets or cabinets, but there was no available space. Owner responded quickly to our questions about setting up internet. Check in was almost 3 hours late, but that was because previous renters left such a mess. Cleaning crew did an excellent job, so I understand why it took longer than usual.

My husband and I were so pleased with our stay in Ira's condo. Very spacious and well decorated as a beach theme. Check in was easy. Enjoyed the fitness center and access to the beach.

Lovely Beach Condo

I was looking for a longer term stay (four months) by the ocean, for my toddler boys and I before we moved permanently to a new area. We found this condo and were delighted to find it beautifully decorated, with cozy beds, a well-stocked kitchen, even beach toys for kids and grownups alike. Don't forget to use the waffle iron during your stay, you won't regret it. The host was more than helpful and always available. I highly recommend a stay here to rest and relax.

Beautiful stay, again

The property is fresh and clean. This is our 4th stay, and we still love the condo, the area, and the great restaurants nearby. Best of all, we love the gorgeous sunset over the ocean that we can see through the palm trees from our balcony! We’ll be back

Great Property!

This is a beautiful condo, with a view, and within walking distance of the beach. It’s comfortable with a specious feel. The owners are lovely people and made this entire experience easy and comfortable. I can’t recommend them enough! You won’t regret staying here!

Best 2 months of the year!

This was our second year to spend a couple of months here. The condo is clean and tastefully decorated. And we can see the ocean through the palm trees. Best of ll are the gorgeous sunsets. Close to so many wonderful cities, too.

Well Equipped and Sparkling Clean

First of all, I'd like to thank the hosts for their hospitality while I was in Oxnard looking for a permanent place to live. Although we never got to meet, every communication with them was very pleasant. Upon opening the door to this inviting apartment, I was pleasantly surprised by its generous size and relaxing decor. The place was darling. Well equipped and sparkling clean! A cute little treat basket was waiting for me at the beginning of my one month stay. In spite of all the pluses, however, it turned out to be a disappointment to me personally, mainly due to my mobility issues. What was described as "steps to the sand" proved to be far, far too many steps for me, and I was only able to get to the beach twice ( by car). From the balcony, however, there was a tiny glimpse of the water if you looked hard between the trees. Also, local restrictions did not allow for air conditioning, and one of the weeks was unbearably hot. There was only one very small table fan that I took from room to room. I slept on the sofa that week so I could get a little breeze from the balcony. In defense of the hosts, I’ve come to realize that “steps to the sand” is very subjective in beach resort areas. It was a lesson learned.

Everything Promised was Delivered.

This place is as beautiful as its pictures. And you can see the pier and the ocean from the deck - and the sunsets are incredible. The kitchen has everything you need - just pack your clothes and enjoy. The condo is very quiet. The community exercise room is close, and you can get to the beach without crossing a street. This place is a dream. You are guaranteed to enjoy your stay.

Cute, beachy and immaculately clean

My mom and sister stayed at Port Hueneme for a month. The place was very cute with beachy decor and a peek a boo view of the pier and ocean. The owner is very organized and obviously takes great pride in her rental. It was super clean, well stocked with two comfortable bedrooms, a nice updated kitchen and relaxing great room. My mom was going through a tough time and big move and the month spent here was a welcome reprise. I would definitely recommend this vrbo

Charming and clean beach condo.

We stayed at Sandy and Bill’s Port Hueneme condo during the months of July and August 2018. The unit had everything we needed including a beautiful well stocked kitchen. My advice is to simply pack your clothes and go. Everything else will be provided. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the sea. We were treated to a lovely gift basket with a great bottle of wine which we drank the first night. The photos on the website accurately depicted the condition of the furnishings which are excellent and adorable. Plenty of towels linens. Everything was in excellent condition. We entertained family and friends and they all commented on how cute the beach unit looked. Sandy and Bill were great to work with and very organized. Our favorite activity was to open the large sliding glass door and feel the ocean breeze every evening. There was always plenty of open parking spaces when friends came to visit. This unit is a real gem and we would stay again in a heartbeat.

Lovely condo

Lovely condo. Located steps away from the beach. All the major appliances worked. Very fond of huge fridge. Very helpful owners. Great for dogs. All and all a very enjoyable vacation rental.

Great condo with even better beach access!I

I highly recommend this property - the condo itself shouts BEACH in its decor and beach access is literally right out of the complex and onto the beautiful sand nearby. The condo is super comfortable with great comfy couches, fast internet and cable ( with Dodgers for those super fans). 2 quiet bedrooms and a nice bathroom along with the rest of the apartment are nicely upgraded with stainless steel appliances and a dark wood-like tile in many areas. The full size washer and dryer really came in handy as well! Finally the patio does have a view of the ocean between large palms that bring soothing rustling and also enough privacy that you don’t feel like you are front and center in all the beach crowd bustle. Dedicated parking and an elevator up to the third floor made it very convenient when shopping! A nearby restaurant right on the beach 2 minute walk was great for a beer and sunset dining on fish and chips. As hosts, Sandi and Bill were excellent, checking in now and again to see if everything was OK and making sure I had everything I needed- they were also highly responsive to any questions I had initially as I was getting used to everything. I also had a special circumstance that meant that flexibility was important- they really worked with me to help me through some uncertainty around rental start date. Overall a great experience and I would definitely rent the condo again.

Clean, comfortable & convenient beach condo!

Sandie & Bill are such wonderful hosts! First impression was how clean & sweetly decorated the condo was. Spotless clean & adorable touches everywhere. Nice balcony to sit outside & have afternoon drinks on or read a book (or for your dos to sun themselves!). They had everything we needed & more. I was able to make a whole thanksgiving dinner in the beautiful well-equipped kitchen! We had to extend our stay another month due to a late closing date on a house & Sandie & Bill were more than accommodating. We would have stayed longer if we could have! The beds are comfortable, linens soft & the washer & dryer are full sized (which you don't find at most condos/vaca rentals). We had fun exploring the area; the beach is literally ten steps out the side gate of the complex. Great sunsets on the beach & really good walking trail along it. We went almost every day with our dogs. Poke Ramen is an amazing Japanese restaurant & is in walking distance, along with a nice convenience store & a deli in the same plaza. Will definitely recommend to friends & colleagues who are visiting the area! Great for families too!

The Condo was great, the weather was not

The condo was great, no issues with it. Modern, comfortable, clean and convenient. This was our first year in this condo, our second in Port Hueneme. It's a pretty, small beach area with fishing pier, nice beaches and easy to get to shopping, restaurants, pretty walks. It's about 8 miles from Freeway 101 and PC Highway 1 (gorgeous drive into Santa Monica), so it's somewhat out-of-the-way.

2nd year enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our January 2017 stay in this lovely condo for the second year. This year we visited the clubhouse pool more often and also enjoyed walks on the beach. Our hosts are always quick to respond to a question via email and this is greatly appreciated. I have never stayed in another condo with such a well-equipped kitchen. We have already reserved for January 2018!

Great condo, great amenities

We already have our reservation for 2017 at this condo, so I can now write my review. This is a lovely decorated condo with many amenities. We were once in a lovely bungalow and had only four dinner plates...this place has so many dishes, pots and pans available! A Keurig coffee maker! Good storage available in the closets and items available for the beach. We didn't go to the complex pool until the last week when our family visited; in 2017 we will go the first week! The owners were very helpful and responsive to our questions; we once turned off a switch and messed up the cable TV and Bill talked my husband through the re-setting process early one morning. Thank you Bill and Sandie for sharing your beach home with us! We look forward to next January in Port Hueneme!
