We traveled during the month of May as a family of 5 people ( 2 adults and 3 kids age 15, 12, and 9) Let me start by saying the food variety is amazing, ocean is beautiful and staff is super friendly. Ladies on the beach( Claudia and Monse) tend to provide nice entertainment. I highly recommend this resort.

We are a family of 4. 2 under the age of 8. We came to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and our pre-anniversary. Our stay was amazing! My kids and husband did not want to leave the resort and stated it multiple times. All of the food was great, all of the à la carte restaurants were 10/10. We had great help from Fernanda that worked with Expedia guests and made our stay so much more wonderful. We can’t wait until we come back. The room was clean and fresh. It was cleaned daily. The beach is somewhat of a walk from family section but there is so much we got to see on all of our walks to and from the beach it was barely noticeable. The beach was not as clear as previous years but that’s Mother Nature for us. The water still felt so good, Playacar has always had a beautiful beach. I thank all of the wonderful staff at Sandos for making this family trip one to remember with great times!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the big shady area (palm trees)at the beach. The buffet is huge and the food is really good. The “coffee shop” has good iced coffees. The Italian and the Indian restaurants are delicious!! We loved that the resort was covered with beautiful trees and bushes. Great resort!!!!!

We have been to Cancun area many times and this was our first time at this resort. The entrance was beautiful, and the staff was helpful. We booked with Expedia and seemed to get a better service due to this! They did try the timeshare bid, but were not pushing when we said no. We also booked an excursion on site, very easy and helpful. We were assigned a concierge and they decorated my room beautifully for my sons 15th birthday. Balloons, desert, signs, we loved it. This was free. You can tell this is off season so the resort was not full, but we still loved it! El Guacho restaurant had great food, the wait staff was not the best. The property is older and well kept, but you can still tell older. There was sargasso on the beach but they were consistently cleaning, and we were able to enjoy a clean beautiful beach during our stay. The buffet had alot of options and the shows were entertaining and there is alot of walking! The animals on the property and jungle were amazing. The swim up bar closed early at 6pm, and so did towel service, which was not fun. Some wait staff were not helpful, and only wanted to give bare minimum info, but there were only a few. Family friendly and big, lots to see ! The budget friendly matches the resort. Loved our stay, depending on your price range, worth the money!

I had a great experience at this hotel. The overall stay was very enjoyable, and I would rate it highly for cleanliness, comfort, and service. Zyanya and Maria were especially welcoming and helpful—they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their friendliness really made the stay stand out. It was a busy March Break week but the beach and the restaurants were not crowded and line-ups for food were short. The buffet was really great for breakfast and lunch.
