Our stay had positive and negative moments.
Positive: price was nice, the room was comfortable, hotel was clean, and most of the serving staff was friendly and welcoming.
Bonus: next door, outside on the beach there is a 5 star rated beach massage, where you can get them for half the price of the hotel. I recommend it, walk out to beach and turn right.
Cabanas and premium drink service by the pool is reasonably priced. May 2025.
Negatives: not within the hotels control but you must know to keep balcony locked. They have some type of racoon like animal and they can open the door, and will come in your room and eat anything sweet. It happened to us and some other friends.
DO NOT ACCEPT FREE SHOPPING TOUR: Hyatt has some VIP concierge service on site that offered us this free shopping tour, which we accepted, a long with 8 other people from the hotel, so 10 of us in total. They dropped us off in Play Del Carmen, poor communication, no info given where to go or how to contact driver. We were told 7:40 and after waiting a half hour past time and no driver called hotel and they said they had no idea what we were talking about. Panic amongst the group took place. Later to hear this has happened before. Drive showed up almost hour later as we all arranged taxi back to hotel privately. Hyatt said nothing they can do. After complaints all hotel said was they apologize it happened.
Elevator broken but they appeared to be working to get it fixed. May 16-20, 2025
