"Proper hotels are rather thin in this area but this one is a gem! Staff is excellent and very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and spacious with great amenities for longer stays. The lakeside swings and fire pit is a wonderful bonus and nighttime sky viewing is excellent! WiFi needs a bit of a refresh in areas of the hotel but overall very good. Access from the rear parking area into the hotel is pretty much nonexistent so plan to walk to the front lobby entrance if you have to park in the rear lot (usually not a problem). The hotel restaurant is great and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Watch the hours as they are not a late-night dining spot! Ground floor laundry is very convenient and well kept and stocked. This is our “go-to” stay when visiting the western Michigan U.P. and thankfully keeps us out of Houghton’s college town mess and expense without being so far away as to make it inconvenient when we need to resupply at larger stores (Wal-Mart, etc.). Give this place a try if you are visiting the area!"

"The description is as it says, unfinished. You can't hardly tell with how great the place is as a whole. It's centrally located to be able to do many things in all directions. The place itself, indoors is great for little kids, jst not the location of being on a main road with a 45mph speed limit, and no front yard. All in all we made it work! 9.8 out of 10!!!"
