"The hotel is nice with nicely decorated rooms and good breakfast but it was SO FREAKING NOISY in the morning which is crazy considering it was at the end of the street??? Anyways. There were loud vehicles RIGHT OUTSIDE the rooms early and the morning and some type of construction going on that kept waking us up (had climbed Ijen the night before so really needed the sleep) the welcome drink was AMAZING! Grab doesn’t really work so bring cash!!"

"Overall our stay at Medewi Bay Retreat was wonderful. Since this was our first trip to Bali, we didn’t have a lot of experience with the different areas of the island, and didn’t realize how remote this area was. We knew Medewi was a very popular surf destination and nearby to Negara, but other than that it is a far more rural/remote area than Kuta, Changgu or Ubud. Our best suggestion when booking any place in this area is making sure you are able to drive/rent a scooter in this area because...

"very nice property with great infinity pool looking right at the ocean. Nice, friendly staff. The food was very expensive at the restaurant and just average at best. We stayed in 9 different hotels in Bali during our trips lots of them as nice or nicer than this one with similar location by the ocean the food price was 30% to 50% higher at Lovina beach resort. Despite this we recommend this hotel for all the other positive attributes it offers."
