A hotel that could do with a freshing up, but the rooms are nice and especially the view over the sea. Breakfast was for sure below average.

Unfortunately while the hotel has an excellent location with great view, a very nice pool and direct access to the beach, the actual building is outdated. Our room had a musty smell, the walls were chipping off at different areas of the room’s wall, a lamp was loosely placed, and the interior of the building was not air conditioned (the rooms were so). I recommended to the directory that they intervene for all above issues. The hotel has great capacity and history but the owner needs to renovate it to a 4 star hotel as it claims to be.

Relaxed stay with great beach

Great view from the room, nice size room, had everything I needed. Breakfast had many options and was fresh and tasty. Beach and pool were amazing.

The hotel has potential, but unfortunately the rooms are quite outdated and in desperate need of maintenance. Several areas showed signs of wear and tear that should be addressed. In addition, the bed sheets did not feel properly clean and lacked the fresh scent you would expect from a hotel stay. Overall, the property would benefit from renovations and improved housekeeping standards.

Isolated resort for families and kids.

Beach had rocks. Limited fast food for dinner.casino closed. Lots of kids. Old hotel redone. Patra more than 10 km away. Isolated area with no outside restaurants nearby. View of Rio bridge was great.

I wouldn't stay again.

It was probably a very good hotel 10 years ago. This hotel needs a lot of renovations. It is clean, but everything is very old. The breakfast wasn't very good. The spa facilities are awful. The only good thing was the massage.

The customer service at this property was completely rude and disrespectful. We were originally given the wrong room and then bugs were found in our new room

The place needs updating. The air condition filter in my room was filthy so much so that the unit could not cool the room. I ended up removing it and cleaning it myself because dirty filters are extremely unhealthy. I brought it to the staff's attention, she told me they clean them once a month which, judging by the amount of dirt, cannot be possible. No attempt was made by management to reach out to me. There were also ants in my bed and the toilet was loose. The bathroom is in urgent need of updating. Dining room staff worked hard.

The hotel was run down. Upon arrival the lights were off in the lobby, no AC, and the guest in front of us was complaining about something as did the one after us. I expected to see antiquities in Greece but I did not expect the hotel to be one of them. The Casino was boarded up ( false advertising). The hallways were dirty and dimly lit. The room was dirty and falling apart, The AC was not working properly in the middle of a historic heat wave, and only one AC unit even though it was a two room “suite”. I was ready to leave immediately but after a 16 hour trip decided to stay the night and make other arrangements in the morning… big mistake. At 5:30am the AC decided to fully give up on this hotel as well, with a violent clatter that probably woke up the whole floor. I honestly felt so uneasy and distraught. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

The hotel is located right on the beach. It has clearly seen much better days and was probably the best hotel on this part of the coast about ten years ago. The staff are friendly, and the rooms are decent—but that's about it. However, our holiday in Porto Rio was a complete disappointment, and we were fortunate to have stayed only four nights. The hotel is accessed via a very narrow road where two cars cannot pass each other. The beach is very poor, covered with stones, and the sea is brown, making it feel more like swimming in a river than in the sea. About half of the hotel is literally falling apart, and that entire section has been closed to guests. The small swimming pool no longer belongs to the hotel. The large pool is over two meters deep in one area, but the water was cloudy and there was a lot of dirt on the bottom. Because of this, we didn't swim in either the sea or the pool. The only real advantage is the natural shade provided by the trees. During our entire stay, construction work was taking place right next to the hotel's beach. A barge with a crane was anchored offshore, lifting rocks from the seabed and depositing them onto the beach, while an excavator spread the rocks along the shoreline. There was constant noise and dust in the middle of the tourist season. As a result, we had to drive to other beaches: Kato Achaia Beach, about 30 km west of the hotel, and Kalogria Beach, about 60 km away. The city of Patras is not really a tourist destination.
