"In all honesty, the rooms were a little shabby. Needs an update. But exceptionally clean with a comfortable bed! Shower was good. "Front" facing rooms get more traffic noise. And the outside was well maintained, except for some areas of the outside concrete walkways. ( hard winters here)! Breakfast was bagged for you in the am to eat in your room. Choice was between cereal w/ regular or oat milk or a breakfast burrito that you heat in your microwave, a muffin ( not great) & juice. If you want fancy breakfast, choose another place. And staff were courteous and kind and the price was right -call them for rates!"

"We had a truly meaningful stay at this rustic cabin near Lake Willoughby. We were there for a whole week and chose this spot for a very personal reason—to scatter my beloved father-in-law’s ashes as per his wishes—and the peaceful, serene atmosphere provided the perfect setting for us to honor his memory. In a beautiful twist of fate, we discovered while there that my father-in-law had actually known the grandmother whose family cottage this originally was, which made our time there feel even more special and connected. We like rustic and so this place was perfect for us. The cabin is perfectly nestled in nature, offering a quiet, soulful retreat. We enjoyed the lovely deck, which is a fantastic spot to take in the surroundings. It’s also very convenient that there is plenty of parking space available and check-in was easy. The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric hot plate and toaster oven, but there is no microwave, so plan your meals accordingly. We brought own soaps and shampoos. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape in a beautiful part of Vermont, this is a truly wonderful place to stay."

"This house is situated on a shady lot with another cottage, with a shared garage in between them. There are steps up to the front door on the main level, and a flight of stairs down to the finished basement, but our senior guests had no issues getting around. The mattresses are very soft. We used the dishwasher, laundry machines and two of the tv's, which all worked. There's no lake view from the house, but the beach is a five-minute drive away. There's a nice dog-friendly bar/restaurant within walking distance on 5A that has outdoor seating. Lake Willoughby is stunningly beautiful. If you're traveling with pets and/or kids, this is an excellent choice, a lot of thought and care went into ensuring kids' safety: sturdy baby gate by the stairs, every outlet is covered, no blinds with cords, spare baby gear, etc. This was a great stay for my family. "We had a wonderful trip to Lake Willoughby with my in-laws. The house was perfect for meals, reading, games, puzzles, kayaking, and taking in the amazing view of the lake. It is very peaceful and quiet in the neighborhood."
