"I really wanted to like this place. From the photos, it looks like a desert oasis. In reality? More like a “has potential, but no one’s checked on it since 2007” situation. Let’s start with the room… “Worn” would be generous. The carpet looked like it had lived a full and complicated life and was ready for retirement. The back of the toilet was cracked (always comforting), the shower was rough, and the tile work was a mix of broken and stained. Even the bedding had seen better days. The overall vibe was somewhere between “dated” and “this room has definitely hosted a few questionable life decisions.” Sleep situation (aka unexpected midnight entertainment): Our 11- and 12-year-olds took the hide-a-bed, which—surprise!—started folding up on them in the middle of the night. It was briefly funny in a “well, this is a story” kind of way, but less funny when you remember everyone has a long day ahead. Nothing like a mechanical failure to spice up your sleep. The water park… This was supposed to be the highlight. Unfortunately, it felt just as tired as the room. Our kids—who are normally all-in on anything involving water—lasted about an hour before calling it quits. That tells you everything you need to know. Also, the check-in process for the water park? A mystery. There’s signage… somewhere… theoretically. We didn’t see it, walked in like normal humans, and were immediately stopped by a staff member who was clearly not having her best day. "Was very disappointed. Room smelled funny, hard to describe. Furniture was worn and beat-up. Beds were supposed to be queen, they were full size. Fitness room out of order and breakfast had very few choices. Whold place just looked shabby and unkept. Was not what I expected. Would definately not recommend."

"Property of this hotel was nice, as was the lobby. The hotel was centrally located in a nice area, and the Staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast options were very mediocre. The room we were in was very beat up. All around the shower it looked as though someone repaired all around it, but never bothered to paint it to match the rest of the bathroom. The tiles were cracked and broken around the bathtub. Doors looked like they had holes in them and then patched very unprofessionally. Truly the worst Holiday Inn room we have ever stayed in. It was quite disappointing. The room was equivalent to a lower end motel, but we were charged the price of a higher end hotel. Definitely needs some work, and not the standard we have experienced with other Holiday Inns. "

"Clean room, friendly staff, beautiful property. Had to call maintenance 3 times during our stay which was inconvenient. Also, was not told there was an extra cost to park on the property so did not know this until I reviewed my bill. For the price, parking should be included as it has been on my previous stays at this property."

"Property was beautiful, rooms were nice. My complaints are that our bathroom didn't have a fan, the water pressure in the bathroom sink faucet was very poor and the property’s WiFi is terrible. I had to keep my WiFi off the entire stay (4 nights 5 days) We stayed over March Break so it was extremely busy, the pools were very murky. Not sure if they’re always like that. I did love how the property had filtered water stations all over. We love Scottsdale and would try a different hotel next time we visit. "
