This is a place of peace and rest. Not far outside the business of Nantucket, it feels like an escape for the mind. I just spent three nights and I slept better than in any other hotel I can remember.
This hotel is so quaint and in the loveliest area of Nantucket with so much natural beauty.
We stayed in the main part of the inn (we booked late so not many room choices). Room was small but well done. Turndown service with cookies every evening. Gorgeous porch, lawn and dock area. Loved every minute.
Absolutely perfect. Staff is second to none. View is incredible. Definitely would suggest a car. The staff was super helpful with ideas for logistics to allow us to enjoy our last day on Nantucket even when our flight was cancelled. Cannot wait to stay again.
I would expect there to be more frequent transport available to take guests between town and hotel. Only one an hour is not enough. I would expect coffee in the room and not have to go to lobby. The staff did not help much when it looked like a storm might strand us at the hotel, I had to do all the investigating - fortunately we were able to get a ferry.
It’s not a hotel for anyone wanting to be anywhere than in their room. And in the bad weather we had on our stay it felt empty and lifeless unfortunately. I would stay in town if you want to feel like there is more life on the island than just you!
That said the room was exquisite and the staff were lovely.
Beautiful hotel, welcoming & caring staff, interesting tours, & wonderful access to beach. Will go back again. Loved the Wauwinet & would recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful vacation.
Our entire experience at the Wauwinet was simply PERFECTION! The attention to detail from the staff was impeccable. The grounds were beautiful, the hotel was charming, and the views were breathtaking. Truly an incredible stay. Looking forward to a return visit!
This out of the way place is a gorgeous little inn away from it all with impeccable attention to service and detail. The amenities were a great addition including many excursions and our staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. I want to give a personal shout out to Tia who was so very sweet!
Impeccable service! Friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating staff....each and everyone. The Inn itself; beautiful, comfortable, and charming. 5 stars all around!
Excellent stay with a ton of amenities and great staff! This was a romantic spot with a private bay and beach access, a convenient shuttle to town that runs every hour to access shops and restaurants, and an option to take the hotel BMW for a few hours to explore the island on our own, not to mention complimentary bikes and afternoon boat rides. Staff supported every request (big and small) and the food was amazing, with views even more so! Overall, so glad we stayed out of the main town area and selected the Wauwinet! I highly recommend it and hope to come back again soon!
The Wauwinet property is 10 star. The top notch service started at the front desk, the staff was helpful with where to go and all the activities on site. The in room service was amazing too, making sure we had clean towels throughout the day. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. My favorite is sitting on the lawn and enjoying the breeze. I love this property and would recommend the Wauwinet to my family and friends.
What an amazing experience from beginning to end. This resort is definitely worth the money. Amazing views. Awesome access to a bay on one side and the ocean on the other. We practically had the beaches to ourselves. And the afternoon port wine and cheese is relaxing and a great social hour to learn more about others and all that the island has to offer.
And the resort staff are all awesome. They are not only knowledgeable, but caring. They literally go out of their way to help you, regardless if they are currently busy. I hope the owners (Karps) read this review and are aware that you can have a great set of programs like they currently do, but it is their current staff and management that takes their resort "over the top." Captain Rob, the tour guide is a historian and navigator of the island. And Sean Burpee, their manager of the Wauwinet, really works with you to get the type of experience(s) you want while you are at their resort. They are nothing short of outstanding and I hope that if they ever receive offers from other programs that the owners will match those offers and increase their salaries to keep these amazing people in place so that the program does not suffer. These people know exactly how to make you have the experience of a lifetime. This place and all the staff are easily an 11/10.
The property is beautiful. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of town. Staff is amazing! they can’t do enough for you. Food is excellent. Great place.
