"The Chalet is a great place for large gatherings to stay while in the Loop. We had a little problem with the DIRECTV in the main room, but, Mike, the owner was easy to work with and we corrected the problem. It's great that all the bedrooms have DIRECTV. Internet is great, best I've ever had while staying in the Loop, and we used our Netflix account to watch movies. Fireplace is fabulous, however, would appreciate leaving small kindling for help with starting the fire. The house was clean but it could use a new broom for picking up small stuff the vacuum couldn't reach. The dishwasher and washer/dryer were easy to use, although the listing should include the washer/dryer are in one of the bedrooms. Overall, the Chalet does deserve 5 stars for the location and scenery. I doubt there is a better view of Horsetail Falls from any other rental in the area."

"The room was clean and there were frig, microwave, hair dryer and adequate number of towels in the room. The self check-in & check out were easy and painless. However, we had asked for a quiet room and due to small property and the location of the hotel, it was right next to 395 Hwy and there was no scaping from traffic noise. The real issue was the small size of the room. This is the smallest room that we had ever stayed in a motel. You had no room to place your luggage and move around at all. It was cumbersome to put anything in the frig or warm food in microwave. The small size of the room was extremely inconvenient. Also the way the heater or A/C was piped in the room was built very awkward and unprofessional and would not allow the window blind to come all the way down since the vents were routed through the window instead of the wall. Also the bed was extremely high off the ground and although I am a 5'-11" tall man, I had a hard time getting on the bed, and this was really difficult for my petite wife. I would not recommend this motel."

"Our cabin was delightful The on-site restaurant had good food options and was a real convenience after a long drive. The couple lower scores I gave were due to two issues. We had a huge spider on the ceiling in a bedroom. I contacted the desk to send someone to help kill it since it was located over the bed and hard to reach. I was told someone would come, but no one ever did. I am 80 years old and had to stand on the bed to reach it. A safety issue for me. In the morning I discovered the microwave did not work so we were unable to fix our planned breakfast. I still enjoyed my stay and loved the environment. I would definitely stay there again."
