"The room is basic and clean. We only needed it for one night, so as a place to sleep it was fine. The best parts were the front desk staff. One helped us with getting a spot to charge our electric car on the fly, even though we hadn't reserved a spot. The other, when our plans had changed and we couldn't stay for the breakfast we'd paid for, packed two very lovely breakfast bags for us to take with us on the road. Budget hotel with luxury hotel staff."

"Thought the spa was included, but not so. Also had to book a time to use it and we couldn't get a convenient slot during our stay so didn't get to use it. Consequently it was an expensive stay for what we had - a lovely room."

"Fantastic breakfast, nice shower, superb outdoor rooftop with bar and heated small pool. Great location with many walking and biking trails through the park, down the river and into town. A bit noisy with motorcycles in the evening. Lovely place."

"Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location next to the river was nice since we had a view out our window. Breakfast was amazing, literally, it was huge and had everything from fresh baked bread to delicious crepes and all the meet cheese and fresh fruit you could want. The location being attached to the ice hockey arena was interesting. There is no staff that regularly attends the entrance and no lobby at all."

"A really welcoming and clean hotel in an ideal location if travelling by train. Booking always includes breakfast, afternoon Fika and a buffet dinner. The room itself is compact though the bathroom is adequate size. Karlstad itself is very laid back place and the weather tends to be slightly better than other parts of Sweden. More geared for a relaxing break."
