Charming cottage on Prime Hook Beach that has direct beach access!

This recently updated cottage on Prime Hook Beach is ready for your vacation! With two bedrooms and a full bathroom, the home comfortably accommodates four people. One floor living with an open floor plan and a walkway out to the beach. Spend the day frolicking in the bay or sunbathing and then relax in the comfortable living space at night for games or reading a book.

This property does NOT include sheets or towels.

Guests must choose to purchase a $70 Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policy covering $3,000.00 in accidental damage, or pay a refundable security deposit of $2,000.00. Policies of a lesser amount are not acceptable. This amount will not be reflected in the quote amount on VRBO.

The property must be occupied by the Guest signing the Lodging Agreement, and all occupants of the Property shall be supervised by the Guest for the entire rental period. The Guest signing the Lodging Agreement must be at least 25 years of age and must occupy the Property for the entire rental period. If the party is made up of unrelated individuals (a group rental), ALL guests occupying the property must be at least 25 years of age.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover Credit Cards and eChecks for your initial deposit. We also accept personal checks for final payments. Final payments are due 30 days prior to your check-in date. NOTE: Any payments within 30 days of arrival require to be in certified funds or by credit card. You will be provided a link to a Guest Portal where you can securely make your payments online.

VRBO BOOKINGS: This property is hosted by the management company noted as Owner on VRBO. After booking the property you will be charged a booking fee by VRBO. ALL other fees and the rental amount will be charged by the management company and paid to the management company. Once you have booked you will be contacted by the management company and sent a Lodging Agreement that must be signed. Apart from Damage Protection, all fees associated with the booking are displayed in the VRBO booking.

Nice quiet area. Comfy bed. Ocean view could’ve been better had you been able to sit at bench and picnic table but both overgrown so unable to appreciate.

Serene setting

My family of 4 really enjoyed our stay in this cottage at Prime Hook Beach. The sunroom was the perfect setting to relax with a book, and the wall of windows made it feel like we were imbedded in the sand dunes. We watched the sunrise a few mornings. My family loved having our golden retriever with us, and the neighborhood was very pet friendly. The kitchen was well appointed and the entire home was pleasantly decorated. It's a great location if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, fyi the closest grocery store is 15 minutes away, and further for a restaurant. Overall, we were very happy with the cottage and highly recommend this property.

Fun stay

We really enjoyed our four day stay. We appreciated the gas grill that enabled us to grilll on the 4th of July. Please provide a grill brush to facilitate easier cleaning of the grill. The neighbors and neighborhood celebrations on the 4th were incredible! Check out at 10am is tight, if possible extending check out to 11am would be great. Milford restaurants were great (My Sister’s Fault, Medings Seafood, Aunt Mary’s Spulfoof for takeout). Overall wonderful experience and memories.

Terrible

Terrible experience. Third party realty firm managing property, incurring additional fees and requirements, contracts and arrangements to be made AFTER booking through VRBO and paying those fees. They require a mandatory “damage protection insurance “ which is laughable considering the state of the place. The pictures are deceptive, not representative of the quality of accommodations. We arrived to a hot, cramped, run down space with a stained mattress and no direct view of the ocean. It was filled with dead and live flies. Management was not responsive, air conditioning didn’t work, we ended up leaving the same night and finding a different rental to save our vacation. After phone tag through a front office who were confused about the situation and uninterested in helping, a contact from Penfed realty responded late Saturday morning stating that even though the temperature at the place had not changed, they could feel air coming from the vent and therefore the air conditioning was working; also, we were informed that flies are to be expected at this part of the shore and “there’s nothing that can be done”. We felt at a bare minimum the addition of a fly strip or two would have been very helpful We informed them the place was unacceptable, we had left, and wanted to be checked out early. I didn’t receive emailed confirmation we had been checked out until Sunday. They retained our entire payment. Very dissatisfied, strongly recommend people find look elsewhere.

Cottage by the bay

we did have a nice stay. Location was great. The pictures of the property are out of date. There were some things wrong with it, that I contacted the property manager about. Broken towel bar in the bathroom, the door to the outside shower was broken right off and missing but the hinges were there. Someone moving our garbage cans around the property everyday which seemed a bit strange.

Beach visit with grandbaby

Very open and spacious house. Perfect for our needs with a toddling 1 year old. The bed was comfortable. The neighborhood was nice. We took a long walk with the baby. We played in the sand. Loved the sun room. A very nice time.

Beautiful location

If you are just looking to chill and feel at home this is your place. The only complaint is the cigarette butts left behind and the cleaning company is not thorough, found lots of dog hair under pillows, sand and animal hair under furniture and clothes. This is nothing against the owner or the property. The cleaning people and other tenants need to be responsible. Smoking should not be allowed if those who smoke will not be clean especially when the agreement states it is allowed outside in a designated area.

Great for families with small children

This house/private beach is great for small children in regards to direct access to private beach and the shallowness of the Bay water. For 5 out of 7 days we did not have any issues with mosquitos but for the last 2 days they were horrible and I wish the owners would look into possible spray for the grass areas around the house. The house itself was sufficient for a small group, not really enough space if you have a larger family but great for 1-4 ppl total. The only downside is that there is no local grocery store so you do have to travel into Lewes (min of 20-30 min with traffic) each way each time you needed something wish there was something a bit closer. Overall a nice area/house/beach :)

nice place

prime hook is an awesome location! the property was nice. the booking is through a realtor company, which was fine but unexpected and without the same pizzazz. we paid X amount of dollars just for the per day rate, but the fees on top of that were really expensive. the fees cost almost as much as the per day rate total. and i dont believe the fees were justified. the property was really great, and i would definitely recommend it. but for a non refundable pet deposit, plus cleaning fees, plus insurance, plus, plus, plus, etc. i would have expected to not need to bring our own linens and have to take out the trash. the location is so good, the house could have been awful and i still would give it 5 stars. amazing for kids and a dog! all of the neighbors are super friendly (though they all did mention how much the would like for the owner to care for the property better, specifically the very tall, unruly grass). there are no trash bins for the property, or dish washer tabs (even though you have to run the dish washer and take out the trash upon check out). it was very clean and tidy when we arrived, washer/dryer are new and clean, kitchen is fully stocked with all the dishes/cookware you need, and bring mosquito repellent! the drive in and out is awesome, the closest store is 12m away (grocery, beer, wallgreens). the beach behind the house is quiet with not many people. the kids loved seeing dolphins, and flipping horseshoe crabs in the morning. our dog had a blast running up and down the beach making friends with everyone.
