"This was described itself as being 'boutique' and I think that may be skewed my expectation slightly. The room that we had I found quite dingy and dated and the bathroom wasn't the cleanest. However, it was comfortable and in a good part of the city close to everywhere that we needed to be."

"Hotel Royal is a lovely mixture of old and new. Our room was huge and comfortable, but beware the corner rooms can get a lot of noise from pub visitors, cars, and church bells. The bathroom was also huge and had a nice variety of amenities, although I would’ve liked a washcloth or make up removers. The entire staff is wonderful. Christian Sindensen, in particular, was a gem. His dinner recommendations were so very good! The hotel is in a great location for shopping, eating really well, and seeing the sights. It was a wonderful stay!"

"Staff were very friendly and helpful during check-in. We arrived early in the afternoon and they let us check in and dropped off baggage’s in our room. Lobby looks nice, the room is soundproof and I didn’t really hear any noise from outside (this is very important to light sleepers like myself). Location of the hotel is convenient, just a few minutes walk from Aarhus art museum, and there are several music venues nearby. Walking distance to the Latin quarter and Aarhus cathedral. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The only suggestion is that the rooms would benefit from getting updated/renovated."

"This was a surprise find! Close to den Gamle Stan and the Botanical Garden, and near a pedestrian friendly street with shops and restaurants. The property was well maintained, the laundry room was very clean and everything worked well. Staff was prompt in response to questions, (as when street maintenance up the room resulted in brief water stoppage). The view out our windows of a garden courtyard and trees, shrubs, and vines of other houses was very relaxing. The space is small but very well organized and with everything needed to be comfortable for a week or so…or even longer. The parking described on the website was close enough and loading or unloading could safely be done in a drive next to the building. Good job, Aura!"

"Black and red theme runs through the whole hotel, makes it a bit dark but the room was clean and comfortable, goid shower. Good scrambled egg at the buffet but the hot water for tea was empty and we had a wait for it to be refilled , by which time our breakfast was a bit cold. Car park very tight, we were only in a mid sized car but the parking sensors were beeping all the way. Glad it was not full! "
