I was looking forward to this much-needed short getaway to celebrate my partner's birthday. However, I attempted to call ahead to confirm all reservation details and had significant difficulty reaching a live representative to communicate with the property prior to my visit. Upon my arrival, there were communication issues, and the hotel representative explained that the staff was short and doing their best, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I was placed in a room that did not have a clear ocean view, contrary to what I had paid for in my reservation packet. The front desk representative indicated that he would arrange for a room change the following day, but this was not honored due to the hotel's full capacity at that time.
The next day, as I was advised to speak with the manager regarding the room change, I was informed that they could relocate my room, but it would only be to a lower floor with a partial ocean view. I chose not to pursue the matter further and decided to express my dissatisfaction through this review. While the hotel itself was satisfactory, there was significant construction occurring at the neighboring building, which resulted in continuous noise from around 4 to 5 o'clock in the afternoon. This impacted my ability to enjoy the beach, pool, or restaurant as intended. Overall, this trip did not meet my expectations, and I hope that the hotel, resort, or Expedia will consider providing some form of credit or discount for a future stay.
